Bought some Clones yesterday and they aren't looking too hot

Hey Everyone,

First time grower here! Have a couple questions about the clones I just bought yesterday.. they are looking a little droopy and the some leaves seem to be yellowing or are curving. Think some of it has to do with being transported yesterday in the cold. Also, I live where it is extremely dry outside.. maybe plants aren't getting a lot of moisture from the air? Room is 74 degrees F.

I have them in a 2x2ft box with 2 11watt, 800 lumens LED lights (box says it provides same light as 60watt, 840 lumens incandescent light). Box is lined with aluminum foil. Misted them this morning and watered them. Should I turn the light off when watering? Lights are 4 in above plants. I know they were transplanted recently. I am wondering if I should put a humidifier in the room because its so dry, or if I should put the clear box top thingy on top to keep the humidity in.

Clones are blue cheese, kandy kush, and grand daddy purps. The one sprout is OG kush..

I would immediately take the small wilted one and mist it heavily with a spray bottle and put it into a large baggie or something clear and airtight and I would get it out of the direct light until (and if) it recovers its turgor.

Def: Biology - The normal fullness or tension produced by the fluid content of blood vessels, capillaries, and plant or animal cells.
 
I hope you didn't pay too much for those.

You have a dome, put the clones inside of it. Until they are rooted cuttings/clones need higher humidity.
 
Yep, in a dome.

Also, cannabis roots don't like light, so figure out a way to cover those clear containers. I'd use black rusto spray paint, but not with the plants already in there. Although tinfoil is frowned upon here, that would work as a quick fix for now.

Okay, so i put the clear plastic cups inside red solo cups. roots are covered. I put all clones inside of dome. Have one light on them. Is that too much? Should I just put them in daylight? Took the smallest one and put it in a plastic baggie. it is out of the light. Also, put a humidifier in the room.
 
DSC01915.jpgDSC01916.jpg I put the small one in a baggie, misted it hard and its out of the light. put the other clones into red solo cups. just dropped the clear plastic cups inside. put a humidifier on in the back (behind the plants in the first pic). am going to try and fix the lights a bit.. just wanted to upload a couple pics here real fast. humidified the dome before putting it over the plants..
 
People use it to line the walls of their grow rooms, when they should probably have just painted them flat white. It doesn't reflect as well as you might think and it doesn't distribute light evenly (it isn't polished, becomes wrinkled) and may potentially lead to "hot spots" in the grow room.

Them clones look stretched too.

My clones don't need no dome or misting. I just water with phed water with slight mutes and they are good.
 
did you get these from a club??? some of them don't look too quality! If you're 21 and a card holder grab some more from a reputable clone supplier! If not, wait a few more weeks and you should be able to do it with no card!

I actually like the little clear cups like this for the first couple weeks of a clones life. Lets me see the root system and I know in theory "light kills roots" but hasn't been the case for me in the field! The canopy of the surrounding plants usually shades them enough! Roots stay nice a furry until they go into 6"er's!
 
they looked a lot better yesterday when i got them.. put a dome over them and a humidifier is nearby. its so dry here so i figured that would help keep them humidified. i put the plants in red solo cups. just dropped the clear cups into the red solo ones. is there too much light on them?

Most cuttings need to be kept under a dome, unless you live somewhere where the humidity is always very high. They only need high humidity until they start to grow roots, then typically a few days after cutting should thereafter start to get more and more fresh air exchanges until eventually the dome is removed.
 
Like Nullis said, they need a dome till they have roots capable of supporting them. You are seeing first hand that this is the case.

Do the cups have drainage holes in the bottom so you will get runoff? Dont want to turn your cup into a mud puddle ;)
 
Don't PH your water, use regular tap water.

Holes in the bottom like he said, and watch them like a hawk while they're in the dome: if they don't improve in a full day, take them out. Matter of fact, they should only take a few hours to perk up, and if they don't, then remove them from the humidity box or they'll end-up going mouldy on you.

Really, all you need is the coolest room in the house and one CFL several inches above the tops of the plants. Ventilation is important too, but only a gentle breeze .. The leaves should only jiggle a bit, not blow around.

Edit: I personally would never use a humidity box because Mould forms so easily in such wet, airless places, but I would stick a small fan on them and spray them - mist them I mean, several times until they stiffen-up again. Even if you DO use thr humidity done, take the lid off every day and let fresh air in there.
 
Most domes feature vents that can be slid open or closed.

One more thing, many opportunistic disease-causing fungi actually prefer cool conditions. This is why seeds should be germinated between 72-80* (without a dome!). Cloning media should be kept at ~72*.
