Boxing....125 year history...whats fuckin with that? The presentation is definitely behind. MMA has that part figured out. But Boxing aint going anywhere.

boxing is my 1st love.. its a sweet science of hitting without being hit, its an art with diffent styles like a chess match, lots of thinking invloved in boxing.

NOW MMA imo is nothing more than a good ole street fight, and we ALL love street fights. imo the only martials arts involved is when they are grappling down on the mat thats where the arm bars and choke holds and the bone breaking occurs, other than that when they are standing they are mostly street fighting, i would even say most of them are trying to box accept for the occasional knee here and there.

now wwe(wrestling i presume) i don't even bother myself with it but my kids love it, i just can't get into a bunch of steroid taking actors faking a fight. just my opinion.

Im not gonna down MMA...Im just simply saying Boxing will be here. Alot of the "Boxing is dying" talk has come from MMA Pres. Dana White. Why wouldnt he say that...they're his competition. Besides...didnt the Mayweather v De La Hoya fight earn Oscar about $60 mil and Floyd about $15 mil? And those are midweight division fighters. So the money is there....which means the fans are too. Admittedly, the HW division has always kept the sport to the fore...and right now the division is shit.

And WWE isnt a sport.

now there is alot of thinking in mma too...more cordination with all of your limbs instead of just 2, and when your being hit you have to think about your arm being broken in a matter of seconds

TRUE i gues there has to be some degree of thinking in mma being that you can use all your limbs, BUT in the few fights i have watched when they are standing its just a street fight UNTIL someone gets taken down then the martial arts training is a factor with the arm bars and choke hold and whatnot!. i use to love the ufc when they 1st came out watching royce gracie and ken shamrock fight, imo gracie was the shit, as small as he was(in weight) he was kickin ass, gary goodwrench or whatever his name is was one of my favs. who could forget the polar bear!, back then it was bare knuckles. just a question here what are the purses now in mma fights? are they anywhere near boxing? 60 million and 15 million is a lot of chedda for a boxing match.....does mma fighters make anywhere near that? or is it just dana white making the REAL money? just curious about that.

well i mean if you consider runing and jumping sports then i guess wwe would fit in somwhere
WWE will never compare to ANY sport IMO. Its scripted...rehearsed...and performed. Thats an act. Not a sport.

And yes...there is thinking in MMA...Its definitely a sport...no doubt about that. Wrestling is not. And as far as Boxing...you would KTFO immediately if all you used were your hands....you have to use your feet.

And BTW I can appreciate some MMA fighters. Old school ones...Royce Gracie/Ken Shamrock....Crazy ass Tank Abott. That was like last millenium though.

yes you use your feet, but not in an offensive manner..more defense and position...i see where your coming from on wrestling, i just added in there for a little extra SPICE

gracie and shamrock are legends of mma, fighting several times in a night...as far as payment, the facts i saw were boxing had its 2nd highest viewing rate at 200 mil..and ufc was 25 mil+, so they have to be rakin it in

don king single handedly put boxing to rest. he controlled the ranking/fights for so long that boxing lost alot of fans. in an age of paper champs and fighters jumping in ranking from 22nd to title contender overnight without fighting the thrill is gone.
i love boxing and mma, but the thing mma has going for it that boxing doesnt is that with mma there is 1 main compainy pushing it. boxing has what like 82,000 belts? how can any1 get fired up for a fight that is between two unknown champs?
yeah mma fighters make squat campaired to boxers. the last time i heard the highest paid mma fighter was makeing about 300,000.00 per fight. thats nothing less than sad.
and any1 that thinks mma is just a street fight while standing is some1 who A,,, hasnt been in a street fight or B,,,, hasnt been in an mma match. how many matches have ended by standing rear naked choke?
boxing has its own pros and cons, but trying to compair boxing to mma is like trying to compair soccer to rugby. soccer is a huge world wide sport and they are paid much better than rugby players, but that doesnt mean its better or worse,,,, just different.

that was toward boxing, trying to say mma has a LITTLE bit more skill aspect involved as far as use of limbs in diff combos, grappling etc

by NO means am i saying that fighters from opposite sports can walk in the other and dominate...a boxer would be destroyed in mma..and the only one i think has a chance in boxing is chuck

it was a good match the first go around, and i hope tomorrow will be as good. that being said i kinda would like to see chuck get knocked the fawk out. just to see how he handles the loss and there would be a rubber match.

ima total mma whore lol

haha word...you would find this interesting, watching espn and joe rogan defending mma they talked to both lightheavy weight champs(box n mma)..chuck liddell told dude that he had a 125 pounder that would "drop him on his head" i found it to be funny as hell
