Breeding mj and a different plant species

Is it even possible? Could you breed weed with another plant that doesnt belong to cannabis family? If so, is there a known list of plants that it works with? I know next to nothing about breeding so sorry if this is a dumbass question lol

Interesting question, maybe more responses in the advanced breeding sub-forum.
Older books in the 70's had references to grafting mj to hops and I think a few other plants.
I think it was attempted and either failed in survival, or created a very week cross.
It could have been an urban legend and all bullshit.

Maybe cannabis interbreeded with another plant in the beginning of time, which made it the awesome thing it is today!
