You need to read and study some more. Your opinions about the world and how it works are entertainment, but not because they're accurate.

Chill with the conspiracy theories and things will come into focus. It really IS all about the money. Follow that and things will suddenly make a lot more sense.

And now Ireland is mostly in the EU, and the Northern part of Ireland is not in the EU. So the UK could dissolve. And now other countries may decide to leave the EU. Britain basically just tore apart what everyone calls "the West". For example, Eastern Europeans probably identify a little bit less with anyone who speaks English now.

And Putin put out a statement saying that Britain will need to reach out to them now that they left the EU, and he sees it as a sign that the sanctions on Russia will not be upheld. So Russia is about to take advantage of this. Then there is the fact that Russia took Crimea and ISIS has disrupted Iraq, Syria, Yemen, Libya, Somalia, etc. And China is trying to create Islands in the South China Sea to expand its borders. So Brexit is about to cause a lot of crazy, it already pretty much just put a big question mark on "the West".

But now Texas is thinking about a Texit.

Texas can do this. It is the only State that came into the Union by Treaty, and if you look at the Civil War that is an example of how the Union can be dissolved, it is not something that automatically lasts into eternity, it has to hold itself together, or not.

Here are a few factors that make Texas different than other States as well:

1. Texas' State Capital is 15 ft Taller than the US Capital.
2. Texas has ERCOT, the Energy Reliability Council of Texas. This means that while the entire Eastern United States is on an energy grid called the Eastern Interconnection, and the entire Western United States is on an energy grid called the Western Interconnection, Texas is on its own grid. So it controls its own energy.
3. Texas has international relations. Many of the countries that the US has oil ties with are also closely tied to Texas.
4. Texas has something like 1/10 of the US's Military bases, and Texans make up something like 1/5 of the US Military.
5. Texas is huge, you can drive for 10 hours and still be in Texas.
6. Texas is diverse. It is one of the first States to have a Minority Majority, meaning white people are not the Majority. Hispanic-White mix is the Majority.
7. Texas has DFW and some of the fastest growing cities in the US, as well as some of the best cities to live in in the US.
8. Texas has been its own Republic before. It has written its own rules and formed its own Government before.
9. Texas split up its counties better than pretty much any other State, and instead of giant unmanageable counties, they are divided up in to pretty small regions that are more manageable than some other State's counties.
10. 2 of Texas' Major cities are named after the people who made Texas a country, Austin (Stephen F Austin) and Houston (Sam Houston), then there is San Antonio and the Alamo and all that.

No it really wouldn't, do you think the fed will leave y'all any gold or silver? Only thing you can back your money with is oil and cattle and we got plenty cattle in the north. Texas would have about the economy of Mexico the only oil is owned by billionaires Texans don't get a piece just a few crumbs if they work for them.

I paid for my land yet the government wants me to pay $5k a year for something I own. How is that freedom? If I don't pay they come on my land with guns and sell my home for their profit. Freedom? Yeah right.

I can't drive a car without permission from the government and I also must pay them if allowed. Freedom? You just sound like a well brainwashed slave.

The government takes 40% of our income with just 10% I should be able to pay for someone to teach my child and a few others and that teacher would get a good wage.

Edit shit not even 10% more like 2% with a classroom of kids paying a little to a teacher for her to get a good wage.

And I'm not right wing they are against freedom Bush started the Patriot Act Obama didn't repeal it. Right wing is anti gay marriage and abortion I personally don't give a fuck what people do they should be free to make their own choice they want to inject heroin go ahead. Plus with freedom we will have reputable heroin vendors who will sell you 5-10mg heroin HCL tablets and want their customers to return safe. On the street people want the strongest dope with bodies on it.

We have more leeway with what we're allowed to do than other but we don't have true freedom. I agree with bluntmassa1. Why do I have to pay taxes on property I own outright year after year? The government has nothing to do with my property. Why can they take it by eminent domain? Why can they declare states of emergency and use police force to either make you stay on your property or evacuate, with no say by you? Why does government have the right to say what I can own/store on my property, which I own outright? Why do I need permission and documentation just to travel? Own a vehicle, fish, hunt, put up a tent on my property? Why do I have to pay to use government lands when they are funded by taxes that are confiscated from me every week. Why are my taxes confiscated to begin with? Is it because they don't trust us, or they know given the choice most people wouldn't agree to funding most of what they use the money for?

We are not free, just have a little more freedom than most other countries, but with an over inflated perception of freedom.
