Bringing back the 80's

As the title says, I'm bringing back the 80's, I miss them.

I'm not sure if I'm getting older or what but I've been doing some shopping for vintage toys to show my boys what toys use to be like and how times have changed. I swear all one of my boys wants to do is watch tv and play video games. I don't think when I was a kid there was ever a time I asked to stay inside.

Anyways enough of me rambling purpose of this thread is to help me finding the lost toys of the 80's

How many of you know or remember these? Come to find out they make a new one today but it cost 100$ ffs.

Yeah, I miss the days of spending lots of time outside. I fail at it myself these days. Too much computer time, too much internet.

luckily, we don't have cable, and the only television-watching that is available in our home is pirated stuff and netflix. I don't really intend to have kids until I'm a very different person, preferably someone who embraces athleticism again. I want to inspire my kids to be out enjoying life, not inside hiding behind a screen all the time. Blagh. Anyway, yeah. At the very least, if i had kids in my home at this point, they would be shit out of luck trying to find any cable to watch. heh.

Playing outside was so freeing... maybe try to explain to your kids that the great thing about being outside and away from the house is that they get to be independent, haha. Do what they want, without parental supervision! I feel like it's dangerous to spell that out for kids, LOL. But it really was the best thing about being 'out' all through my childhood... heh. It instills a sense of freedom and a sense of confidence in one's self to be away from the home.

Heh. I didn't notice this and then I go post some indoor gadgets. :)
lol. Don't get me wrong, I sure loved my Nintendo Entertainment System. ;) Really we just didn't have much money... lol. And really, it's the freedom of being out and away from your parents... what kid can't appreciate that? LOL

I turned 18 my first year in college in 1979. So, like I said, my toys were different. :)

I had an Amiga 500 and wound up making money with it. Not much - but some.
