Broken branch, hanging by some stalk...

With the wind storm we had, some bottom. Branches broke off, I cut the ones, well, most of the ones real damaged.
However, hanging by an 1/8 of some outside stalk is a decent branch. The core is broken, and its been hanging on - I did tie it up to take the pressure off, and it appears the branch is clinging to life. Anyone had this happen and it lived? Will it stop growing anyway??

as long as some of the cumbrian layer is left, she will absorbe nutrients for flower

Tape it up.

It happens to people all the time. Just tape it up and add a splint if necessary.

That's what I was hoping, and it certain!y seems that way! Also always n wanted to know the name of that layer, another thing learned , thank you!!!

I hate pointing this out but that is a misspelling, it is actually cambium.
