I left my humidifier on high for a little too long in the grow tent with my seedlings last night and it got really wet in there. now my hygrometer is reading all wonky, switching back and forth between Celsius to Fahrenheit and the RH is just reading high and won’t go back down. It’s a pretty cheap little model, is it worth trying to fix or should I just chunk it?

Sounds like it's shorting out from being exposed to too much humidity. Pretty ironic for a hygrometer ;)

It should work properly again after letting it dry out. With that said, I wouldn't rely on a moisture testing device that fails when there's moisture. I'd get a different one and use it. Keep the old one right beside it to see how it behaves after it dries.

Take out the battery if you can access it and let everything dry out for a couple of days. Same happened to me a few months ago!

haha that’s what I thought!!! oh well, like a said it’s a super cheap model anyways. it’s already starting to work again after drying out for a little bit. But I just went ahead and ordered a humidity controller like @Just Be said to save myself the future pain.
