Broken limbs

I was shocked to find two broken limbs and a large crack in the base of one of my plants!!

I'm new to this site but have had pretty good success for nearly 20 years not having to go and buy any from someone else.

Not sure how it happened, but this year I tied down/bent the main shoot and they were doing great. Very bushy, budding for two weeks now so I took the worst limb off. Poor thing, must be in bigtime shock. The other damaged limb is supported and still growing, some leaves have a yellowish tip, and others have totally gone so I nipped off. I'm drying the lopped limbs' buds but have not tried yet. I got pretty gooey trimming so we'll see, could be ok?

Anyone else had this happen? Animals may have run into it or is it possible to wet the leaves too much and get too heavy? Perhaps I bent too much and caused it myself and just noticed it now with the added weight of the buds?

I'll post some pics later.

Happy growing

I broke three limbs today moving my plants out of the basement and used masking tape as a brace. If it's not broke in half, it won't hurt too much. Some people split them or bend them for supercropping.

This is always happening to me, branches can get heavy with rain or bud and collapse. Never snap off, the joint with the stem just

gives way. I have a line strung across so I can tie droopy branches up.DSCF1249.JPG

Thanks,

I did have to pull a little bit when I removed the 1st branch, I need to check its' dryness, the other one is supported from the edge of the pot. I should have mentioned they are in pots, big pots, not easy to move. I would need a dolly. So the second branch is barely attached to the main stem but is still going good.

I should check to see what is happening at the site of the 1st broken limb I guess. They are budding very well still!

Thanks again, btw, when you said never snap off, what will happen?

Cheers
