I took these pictures because another thread I had other pics that were not as clear. I have these brownish looking spots on some of my fan leafs. Some of the spots are on yellow leafs and some are on green leafs. I think the leafs eventually turn yellow, with the brown spots. I have 5 white widow plants that I just put into flowering this past Friday. I had some fungus gnats flying around so I used azamax on the 24th, and again yesterday, the 31st. These spots started showing up Saturday. I use fox farm soil, and water apx. every 3 days, give the azamax every 6-7 days for 3 treatments. I fed nutes 1/4 strength, biobloom for the first time in flowering on Saturday.

I am currently using a 400 watt hps with 3 cfl lights on the sides for light.

If anyone knows what is wrong with these plants please let me know. I do not want them to get worse.
Thank you

I wouldn't worry about it, unless it starts spreading up the plant. At this stage in life, the very bottom leaves will die off, and the fact that they're so close to the soil(or touching), could also be the culprit. Anyway, it looks like a mild nitrogen deficiency starting, and your plant is about ready to start stretching, so you might want to give it/them a mild(1/2 strength) dose of veg fert, before switching to bloom fert. They burn up alot of N during 'the stretch', and you don't want them to yellow and lose all their fan leaves, too early.

^what he said. i mix half bloom and half veg nutes a week before flipping, then keep adding mixed nutes til a week after i flip and dump monster bloom for a week.

Thanks so much you guys. So today is feeding day, so if i feed just like i was while vegging for about a week or so then switch to bloom nutes?

also, i am using RO water, could that have to do with the deficiency? Is it ok to use RO water, and will the nutes replace what is missing? Thanks again

There is nothing "missing" from RO water, except impurities, which is a good thing. Gives you complete control, of what your plants are getting.

oh ok, i was reading other sites because I didnt get a response from here for a few days, and people were scaring me. I just a gallon of water with 7 ml of vegging nutes to the 5 girls. If thats bad, let me know, otherwise I will update later. So I am not needing to use epsom salt?

You soil PH is about perfect, it's right where I like to keep mine, and they do great. As for the nute doseage, I can't suggest anything, because all nutes are different. The best I can do, is recommend no more than 1/2 the recommended strength on the bottle), then watch your plants and see how they react. If the leaf tips start burning, your using too much. If they're showing deficiencies, it's time to increase, etc....it's called "reading your plants", and IMO, the best way to learn how to feed properly.

Also, if your fert doesn't have micro-nutes(aside from the the big 3, NPK), you'll want to get something that contains them. Epsoms will take care of magnesium and sulphur, but not the others, like copper, iron, manganese, etc.... Your soil might be enough to do the trick, but I wouldn't take that chance. Buy a seperate trace nute fert, or a fert that contains everything you need(like Dynagro. i use it and like it alot), and make sure the plants are getting those.

I had a similar problem. I thought it was a nute problem but when I looked with magnification I saw the little spider mite fuckers!
I was shocked as I didn't have any on my veg plants. Not saying that is what you have but get a loupe and check the underside of the leaves.

If I buy something like Dynagro that has all the NPK and everything else, so that is an all in one deal? And do they have seperate for vegging and flowering? I guess I can call the local growshop and see from him. I am using FoxFarm soil and I have not really read what all is in it. You have been a great help!

I did check, and still check every day for spider mites. My brother gave me some 3 gallon pots, and didnt tell me that he previously had a spider mite problem until after I planted in the pots. But I cleaned the pots well and have not seen any of those lil faukers. I was seeing these little white things in the soil and started seeing flying things, and came to the conclusion I had those fungus gnats and the little white bugs I was seeing where hypoaspis miles, which I hear are good, but have been treating the soil with azamax for the larvae of them fungus gnats. That in the beginning is what I thought this problem was, because the leafs started changing a few days after the azamax. I did a second treatment a few days ago and no adding to the problem so I am hoping the bug killer isnt the problem. But like I said, I have nightmares about these girls being infested, so I check everyday to make sure no nasty spider mites. aza or azo? hmmmmm, spelled it both ways in my journal

^Yes, they have both veg fert, and bloom fert, and cheap, too. If you want an idea of what your feeding schedule might look like, check the link in my signature, it's from a grow I did late last year, using Dynagro, and FF's soil. I believe I documented each time I fed them, and the dose given. Might be of some help to ya... :)

ya i wouldn't worry, you're doin it right only adding small doses of nutes to see how they react.. i'm sure they'll be fine, i use azamax too, the bomb shit!

So far I am liking the azamax, I did a lot of reading about it, and some people didnt like it, but I would recommend it. Since I found out the leaf problems were not from the aza, Im a fan! I am thinking the little buggers are gone, hopefully! I have one more dose to give of the aza so hopefully that does the trick.
