Hello everyone,
I woke up this morning to find this 20120425_120046.jpg20120425_113752.jpg20120425_120106.jpg. Being my first grow its sent me into panic mode :P Most of the brown leaves are the ones that are close to the light but there are also others that are not (image 1). Im using 2 60 watt fluorescent tube lights and am currently vegging. They don't give out much heat, which makes me think the leaves aren't burnt but again, its my first grow so i cant put my finger on it. I've looked through the forum but cant safely (or confidently) diagnose this myself. I last fertilized and watered 2 days ago with aIndonesian bat guano tea, and although 90% of the plant looks healthy, these leaves are worrying me. The soil has not dried out yet either so i don't believe its under-watering.

Any opinion/ information would be valued greatly

Cheers guys

Mike

Contrary to belief flouresent's will burn! Are you using T5's? distance away from light? Move them back and you will be fine! won't really damage at this point! What lamp's are you using?...not water and doesn't look like nutes! How many bulb's for this 60watts ? Relax my brother and look at the plant..you know the answer your just looking for reenforcement! Enjoy the grow don't panic and realy pay attention and you will be rewarded! Wishing you the best! jack

yea thats light burn, it usually affects the ones closer to the light, but not always. when 2 leaves are overlapping, the bottom leaf end up with a little moisture on the top side and the light uses it as a magnifying glass, burning it. any time you get white spots like that, irregular, and for no reason whatsoever, thats probably it.

id recommend getting a good fan, to move moisture around, and dissipate heat. dont foliar feed with the lights on, or mid day.

what does kinda urk me is that they have 3 fingers. seems pretty prevalent on your plants. id check pH first, then perhaps humidity. that happened to one of my plants, and i ended up giving it a weeks dose of fungus/mold killer and all the growth after began having the 5, 7, 9, 11 finger pattern. just a thought, it could be nothing, hard to tell with the pics

overall they look ok. as long as they keep growing, your doing ok, bigger the plant, easier it is to maintain.

Cheers guys very helpful information. I'm using 2 60 watt fluorescent tube bulbs which is all i can afford at the moment. However, Im considering a different type of light for flowering when the pay-check comes in haha. And Nick, now you mention it alot of the leaves do have a 3 finger pattern. Some of the new growth coming through are developing a 5 finger pattern but even then the extra 2 blades on the leaf look very small and undeveloped. What sort of fungus/ mold killer do you recommend man? Im so cautious to add anything to it. And also when you say you gave it a week worth of dosage, was this just following the guide lines on the back of the product?

Much appreciated
