Brownish spots on leaves

Hello everybody, new user here going through some minor problems. I believe my issue may be my lights being too close but as you can see the leaves have brown/black spots on them. Any input is greatly appreciated, thanks.

I am using Fox Farm Grow Big and a really small amount about half a teaspoon. I added the nutrients w/water on Wednesday, on Friday I watered only (no nutrients) and today I was going to add more nutrients but I saw how the plants had these spots. If it is magnesium deficiency, what's a good way to make my plant normal again? thank you guys for responding.

Does anybody have an idea as to what it might be causing the problem? I think it might be magnesium like mentioned above but any more suggestions are appreciated, thanks.

List all the aspects of your grow and what you done recently....
Maybe we can determine the cause...

I am doing a microgrow with two 26 watt cool cfl lights. The plants are about 4 inches from the light and the only recent thing I did was add the nutrients (half a teaspoon) about five days ago. I'm supposed to add more but I'm not sure if it's a good idea right now.
I'm growing with fox farm soil and fox farm grow big.
Ph of soil is 6.5, ph of water is 6.5 as well.

What was the method in checking the ph?

i was just about to ask that same question. I use general hydroponics solutions to keep my soil maintained. but that only lasts until the water dries up. DO NOT use those cheap little soil testers with the long silver rod on the end of little box with a meter on it. they dont work.

Ive tested my cheap ass ph meter from home depot that you stick in the soil against multiple others. Though it is not a digital readout, it has always been very very close. Just my experience. Also, 6.5 should be perfect. If a cheap ass meter from HD reads 6.5 in soil, its my opinion that Ph is most likely not the problem

Unfortunately I did use the cheap testers however like chasmtz says, it still is very close as I have close friends who use them and have succeeded in their grows. If the ph is not the problem, then what could it be guys?

Well, you say you are supposed to add more.....
Your plant is deficient....
Your ph is fine...
Solution-add some lime or epsom salts
Or possibly you fed too soon locking mg up
In that case, flush and reapply nutes
