Bubbleberry x Somango

This is a grow journal for a Bubbleberry x Somango cross, done in DWC with Botanicare pure blend pro and a 430w hps.

About the genetics:

Bubbleberry (Sagarmatha) Mother. Bubbleberry is a Bubblegum x Blueberry cross.

Somango (Soma) Father. Somango is a Big Skunk x Jack Herer cross.

Out of 4 seeds I got 3 females. I flowered 2 of the phenotypes and mothered the third. I also took clones from the first 2 phenotypes for mothers. These will be labeled as A B and C.

Vegetative Growth: Due to hybrid vigor these are very slight eaters. PPM's during veg never got above 250, and still had burning. Pure blend pro needs to be used very lightly (1/4-1/2 strength), and even lighter with hybrids. They were vegged on Pure Blend Pro Grow and Cal Mag Plus. Phenotype A had absolutely no vegetative smell. Pheno B smelled strong of skunk/catpiss.

Phenotypes A & B were flowered at 4 weeks veg. Flowering ppm's started at 250 and rose to 500 by week 5 with slight burning. They began flowering with PBP Grow & Bloom, Cal Mag+, Humboldt Hydro Honey and Myco Madness. Phenotype A stretched from 12" to close to 3'6". Phenotype B stretched from 10" to 2'6". Phenotype A has lots of typical sativa growth pattern with a big strech and long side branching, where as Phenotype B had very minimal side branching & stretching.

These first pictures were taken at week 5:

By week 7 the ppms have been pushed to 6-700. Pheno A is drinking 1-2 gallons a day. Due to some LST & SCROG training, Pheno A looks to have filled out 75% of 2.5 square feet. I would guess her yield is in the realm of 4.5-6 oz. She can only hold up about 40% of her buds. The other's are just lying on the screen. Such a heavy yielder. She has a sweet cheese/citrus smell. Her buds are long foxtailing and airy. I expect her to finish in 9-10 weeks. Pheno B looks to be yielding around 2 oz in a one square foot footprint. She has a dank skunk/gas/berry smell, and hoping she finishes in 8 weeks. Her bud structure is much denser than pheno A, although later in flowering she is beginning to foxtail as well. I reverted a clone of hers to veg at week 2 in flower and the clone has done well minus some inevitable mutations; there is a picture of this clone in my third post. I am excited to use her as an early finishing short in height sativa in SOG; she's got the perfect growth pattern for it; so far...

There is a picture of the whole SCROG. In that picture, Pheno A is located in the lower left quadrant. Pheno B then takes up the other 3 quadrants. There is a small clone of Pheno A that went into flowering at 5 inches just last week snuck into the lower right hand quadrant. This clone has been topped and flowered young to test Pheno A's SOG capability. I don't have much hope for her in SOG although she is a SCROG Queen, and would be amazing in a greenhouse/outdoor.

Here are pictures from Week 7 in flowering:

Here are some pictures of the mothers, including the yet to be flowered 3rd phenotype mother. There is a picture of the clone of phenotype B taken at 2 weeks flower w/ mutations.

Week 7 has just ended and the trichomes are roughly 25% amber, 55% cloudy, 20% clear on both plants, although both phenos are still packing on weight. I have begun flush and presume harvest at the end of week 8. More pics coming soon.
