bubbles not popping?

I have heat around 140, vac at 27.5 (my max for some reason, duno if bunk guage or what) - i do not have any leaks, but it just stays the way it looks in this picture, they arent popping anymore.

What do i do to remove the last of the butane? I can't increase the vacuum, do i increase heat?

Also - how long should it take to purge such a small amount? I've let it go about 2 -3 hours now, and this is about a gram maybe 1.5 total

You pulling a vacuum then releasing it and repeating until muffining stops? 140 is hot, may have permagoo.
Actually i did the de-muffining with a hand pump back before i bought my chamber/5cfm pump. I just kept the oil i the freezer until i got my new toys. Now i've gathered it into one gloob, and i have this while its vaccing

As SP notes, you can collapse the bubbles by releasing the vacuum and then pulling a new vacuum a few times, until they stop rising. The bubbles shown are still solvent bubbles and you have a ways to go.

27.5" Hg is low. What altitude are you at?

Let the evidence speak for itself. A hand pump may work on small chambers, for folks with wrists like my neck, but as you can see, they really didn't do much to purge the residual solvent out, even after all your cycling and less than full vacuum on your new electric.

I have been releasing the vacuum and pulling a new vacuum about 4 or 5 times, but they keep rising, but not popping, similar to the 2nd pic above.

I am at 738 feet above sea level so i should be getting 28.9 - 29.4"hg

I would question the guage - but in videos of purging i have seen the bubbles pop, and reform over and over - in mine they are just rising, and staying there, not popping. So i wonder if its the vaccum not pulling hard enough and the guage is accurate. How long should it take normally?

Also just incase its the pump not pulling proper vac im going to have a new one on monday, amazon is replacing this one.

Sometime 4 or 5 times isn't enough, depending on how enriched the oil is and how much residual butane. It is one of the stickiest natural substance on the face of the earth and can stretch into gigantic bubbles.

However, my guess it has more to do with your low vacuum level. What kind of gauge do you have? Do you have a picture of how the pump is connected?

Listen to FD..

When the initial vac process starts..

I pull and release for what seems to be” short session” of pull and release, however noting the clock..

At least an hour has passed before I let the chamber go on” Auto Pilot”

Alright, i'm making a new batch, just extracted a half oz and its outside in a water bath right now, i will scrape it and when i vac it i will go more/longer of pump/release - what is a good indicator that its ready to be spread thin (is this a good idea?) and let auto-vac?

The guage is a glycerin filled one that came with the chamber which i purchased off of ebay

here is a picture of the lid of the chamber, the vessel is a 1.5 gallon stock pot - the hose goes to a 1/4 inch barb on the pump - i think this is what you meant by how its connected?

When you do this, how long do you let sit at full vac before you release and re-do? 5 seconds? 1 minute? thx

oh and do you take it out and fold it back into itself between pulls or just leave it in?

Have you tried tapping on the gauge after it reaches full vac. Mine will pull to about 27.5, but if I tap the gauge it will get right down to 29.9 ish. Even a liquid filled gauge can stick. Leave the oil alone. it is a slow process. Those bubbles will pop. it may take several hrs. for some of the bubbles to pop. Patients my man.

I just tried tapping and it went from 27.5 to 28 ;p. When should I just start letting it go - at what point after muffin? heh thx bro ;p

Once the muffin is done just let it be. I purge 10 grams for 48 hrs. at least. I usually flip 2-3 times. Flipping will trap air causing more air bubbles which create more surface area for the solvents to cling to and catch a ride out. Simple explanation.

I do not manipulate physically at all...(no balling up) unless I'm making wax.
Agitation (folding) will encourage nucleation (waxing)

When I muffin..I pull almost full vac, quickly release, then slowly increase the vac ...

Ie..
Pull to -15 , release.
Pull to 17, release
Repeat ..
No extended muffin time.

Maybe i am confused about muffin. It is still puffing up, is that muffin only the initial super big one?

And when you let it go for 48 hours, is your pump running the whole time or do you achieve full vac, and cut if off / turn it off?

Can you please show me what it might look like when this stage is done, and what to do for the next stage? Ie do you spread it thinner, leave it and let it go?

i have the water bath on 120 so the oil inside is probably around 110 and when i pull/release repeatedly, i keep getting this, and it seems the same each time

Muffin is the initial big one. I run my vac about 75% of the time. What's your oil temp at? Just let it be. Patience. It should eventually flatten out.
