What is the range of water temperature the resevior should be???

A temperature of above 82 degrees or below 67 degrees will slow growth, but it is not a serious problem that will kill your plants if it is within 2 or 3 degrees. . Temperatures below 62 degrees or above 90 degrees will stop growth and get near death.. An extremely high temperature in the upper 90s or below 58 degrees will slowly result in death of your plants. The most efficient temps for growth are between 72 to 76 degrees during the day and no cooler than 10 degrees less, at night. .
is my opinion.

Roseman! I knew you would be the guy on this question. My plants look healthy but my rez water temp stays around 80. DL suggested I put a couple frozen water bottles in the rez a day. I figured this will lower my temps and raise my water level from the space taken by the bottles. Anything you want to add? Also should I be adding more water as the level drops? This will thin out my nute mix I know. My rez water level is dropping faster I have noticed too. The plants are bigger and are drinking more. (or the water is evaporating). I gotta wait on getting the PPM meter due to lack of funds.

Bro I got one this week. It's not Hannah or name brand but $35 and it works and it reads PPM/EC/CF. Let me know if interested I'll send u link.

This is answered in great detail on the Bubbleponics thread. If you do not have a ppm meter, (and I did 6 grows without it) but basically when the plants drink 1/6 of the water, add one gallon back with 1/6 nutes.
SHOULD I TOP OFF WITH WATER OR ADD MORE NUTES?
I've seen many an arguement about this. If they drink one gallon of water, (1/6 of the tank) then they drank or ate 1/6 of the nutes too. But which nutes? That is why I use a ppm meter, as good as you'd ever need, that you can get for $89, plus shipping.
But if you do not have a ppm meter, read this:

In the summer or in hot grow rooms, plants, in general, will take up more water than nutrients, thus causing the nutrient solution to become more salty. In the winter time or in cooler grow rooms, the opposite will occur.
This affects ppm.
Nutrient uptake will also be determined by the type of crop being grown e.g., tomatoes are heavier feeders than lettuce. It is extremely important that the grower has both a TDS meter and a pH meter and that regular testing on the nutrient solution is carried out. If the grower notices after a few days that the ppm level in the reservoir is high and the water level has decreased than the grower should top up their reservoir with a weak fractuional nutrient solution until the optimum ppm level is reached. If the grower has noticed a considerable drop in ppm levels then a more fuller strength nutrient solution should be used to top off the reservoir.

Another factor to consider is the source water. You will generally find that if you are not using distilled or reverse osmosis water, you will usually have to top-off with plain water, since tap water has a lot of sodium and minerals that increase the ppm levels but offer no nutrients.

If you do use distilled or RO water, you will find the pH stays stable more often.
