Bud Blood Experiences

I have opted out of Bud Blood this go around. I'll still use Big Bud and Overdrive, but Bud Blood is too expensive and I'm skeptical about it's effectiveness.

I won't be able to do a fair comparison becasue I'm using a screen this grow. I just hate that they make the shit so expensive when you only use it for a week.

How else they gonna make those big bucks?
Gotta look out for those products like ummm carboload of xpensive watered down molasses...

I also use carboload, but that one at least gets used during the entire flowering period and I find it to actually be beneficial. Granted it's really just sugar (like molasses), but it doesn't jack up my hydro system like raw sugar does.
 
What is the exact dosage specifications? How often do you need to give your plants bud blood in the first 2 weeks. So far ive only given them 1 dose.
 
carboload is not just molasses everyone says this it is not. it contains mainly deoxy ribose or d-ribose this is an expensive compound found in all living cells it enters tissues faster than any othe carb source and is also used by athletes and for people who have suffered heart attacks or other cardiovascular issues. it is not cheap carboload has molasses in it but it has many other carb sources as well. also select amino acids and trace minerals. molases itself works well as a carb source but if you can afford budcandy or carboload are better.

I'd have to say bud candy and molasses would be the best combo for the peso.
 
from what i have heard budcandy is a combanation of sweet leaf and carboload. i think in 2010 they may discontinue some products and release new combination products such as budfactor x which is voodoo juice and scorpion juice combined which im testing with good results. i think its good there making fewer total products less confusing and cheaper hopefully. we wont know until they post there full 2010 product line up.

Thank goodness....Way too many products and not enough info. No wonder many try the hobby one time and stop growing. Lot's of money to spend on nuts. with unspecific and incomplete info. on nuts. imo. AN needs 2 lines. One organic and one not. Period! If more be very specific in use and direction.
 
The way I understood my hyrdo shop owner is that Bud ignitor can take the place of Bud Blood and that Kushie Kush can take the place of Big Bud, and that Bud Factor X Can take the place of Scorpion juice with other added flowering benifites. There is one more new nutreint coming out to complete the line up.

200ppm and I leave it in the reservoir for 1 week. Hydro of course.

I think that equates to about 1 tsp/gallon if I remember correctly. I'm not in my garden so I don't have the feeding instructions, but I'll bet they are on Advanced Nutrients Website.

I should add to that because I feel it's unjust not to. If AN says use 200PPM, you should probably try 100PPM - 150PPM on your first use of the stuff. AN tends to have you kill your plants for some reason with high dosages.
 
i used bud blood on 1/2 of the plants and there was no visible difference,,,,,,,,AT ALL, my friend grew 4 plants last year using just water in northern canada where the seasons are short and he got 3lbs out of 4 plants bn ut he grew them in his compost pile,,, so nutes and additives in my opinion have more downsides than upsides,, to each theyr own
 
The problem isn't really that the plants don't benefit from it, it's the hype that surrounds it that bothers me. Plants need nutrients, but they way they market all of these "Miracle Products" is ridiculous.

Use this, 20% higher yeilds, blah blah blah. Many people then go out and spend $100's of dollars on nutrients only to burn their plants and have their yields actually suffer greatly. Once your plant is supplied with what it needs, it's good to go.

You want higher yields? Get more light and/or add Co2. Nutrients will make the smallest differnce in my experience. And most of the time less is more.
 
I think the secret may lie in using less nutes than normal or most, I'm starting to think that's why my first plants did decent was I was a pussy and wouldn't use much nutes.
I've finally got a nice line up now, but I haven't burnt any yet.
I've moved from CFLs to 2x 1Kw HPSs so my yeilds r gonna go way up regardless of nutes.
I also read on humbolts snow ultra that some grows report they get better yeilds using less nutes, so that's what got me thinking the other day about that.
 
It's not really a "less is more" kind of thing. It's finding the APPROPRIATE amount. What's on the bottle is almost NEVER appropriate and should be almost disregarded.

My plants "talk to me". They tell me what's going on. So does my reservoir in hydro. If my water level is going down and my PPM is rising I know that my solution is too strong and the plants are drinking more than eating. If it's the opposite I know they will be starting to starve soon. The color gets light and they look hungry overall.

But I try not to start by burning the plants right out of the gate and then saying...."whoops, guess that was too much" as that would be silly. With most nutes you need to build them up over time anyway not just slam them into the reservoir at full strength. The only exception really is the AN additives such as Bud Blood, Big Bud and Overdrive. I pretty much add those at the same strength everytime. My base nutes I build up slowly and then add the additives at 1/2 strength and leave them that way the whole time.

I'm really glad I didn't use this product this time. Sounds like a whole lot of bullshit on Rambridge's website. AN's doesn't even bother with a "Tech Info" section because all they have to say is "We ganked this shit and made it cheaper....not a lot cheaper, but cheaper. We like to find other outrageously priced bullshit and sell it slightly cheaper, but still way overpriced and label it as miracle shit to make your buds bigger and better."

Okay, it doesn't say that verbatim, but damn....c'mon. And where's their TONS of marketing dollars on this one? Where's the brand manager to step and say "You can't put that on the fuckin' website".
