Bud Mold, What can I do?

Ok, I just finished drying my 1 outdoor plant I grew. About 1/3 of the total harvest is riddled with mold. You crack open all of the biggest nugs and there's white fur inside. I assume I shouldn't smoke this, But is there anything I can do with this. I read somewherebubble hash is ok, because when your done mixing it, the mold floats, and doesnt settle into the screens. I really dont want to throw away over 2 ounces of really good herb, so please, anyone has a solution or answer, it would be much appreciated. Good answers+rep. Thanks guys.

Is it really ok to make canna butter with moldy bud? I thought it would still be bad for me if I ate it. Just asking if others have actually done this or just heard of people doing it? With bubble hash, the mold is supposed to float while the trichomes fall, so I could see the seperation making it ok, but with butter I would be simmering the mold in the butter I intend to eat. I could see it being fine from the heat killing it during the process, but just verifying it has been successfully been done before.

NO, sorry dude but its a lost cause. would you want to eat anything with mold on it, in it, used as an ingredient...no thanks...
Mold cannot survive boiling temperatures. That will ultimately kill it, but the dead mold (although not alive) will still be part of the oil/butter. Considering all the other "dead" things like salmonella people cook out of chicken everyday, it shouldn't bother you.

Not alot that you can do i would try and salvage has much has possible by cutting it away from any uneffected area.Throw the mouldy stuff away i would not advice smokeing the stuff.

Thanks for more advice. I have no intention of smoking it. It is already seperated from the rest of the bud. I'm still kinda hesitant on making butter. I may go with blender hash.

Ok. Now I started with 37 grams of molded buds. I mixed a few things together that I found and put together this solution. I started with the idea of blender hash demonstrated by the trailer park boys. The did their method dry.

I took the bud and placed it in my blender and then put it in the freezer for 30min.

After that, I added about a quart of ice and a quart of water and pulse blended for 10 min

I then poured it out into a big bowl. It was a little foamy.

I then skimmed off all of the floating plantmater with a spatula.

After most of the floating mater was seperated, I poured it through a fine mesh strainer. I then let it sit for about an hour. After it sat, I used a 30cc nutrient syringe to syphon water out of the bowl till it was almost all gone. Then I poured what was remaining onto a dinner plate and set it on my taoster oven for a couple of hours.

I let it sit out and dry over night. Then mashed into a ball, wraped in cling wrap, and stepped on it to press it. When all was said and done, I got 9.9 grams of some good smelling and smoking hash.

how did the hash turn out?
the hash turned out very well. iused it to make a few sets of my hash cookies, but after the hash had been sitting in the bag for a few months, a small part of it began to grow mold. ithink ididnt dry the hash enough initially, and that lead to the small mold growth . there was only a small amount that was moldy and ijust removed it. Istill have a little bit left of it.

It actually tasted pretty good. Not quite as good as all of my bubble hash, but way better than anything you'd buy off of the street. Thanks for the rep.

Originally the buds had mold from a lot of rain right before harvest. I think when I made the hash, some of the spores may have gotten into the final product and started to grow while it was still drying. But it was only on a small portion of the hash and that hash still made some wicked hash cookies. THanks for stopping by.

To the idea of killing mold being the prime concern. This is not true, the first and foremost thing you have to think about here is the mold often produces chemicals which are toxic to humans. Live mold is not really the point, they toxins and meriade of chemicals I am assuming are fat soluable they leave behind could be toxic.

NEVER RECOMMEND EATING ANY UNKNOWN FUNGUS. MANY FUNGI STRAINS LOOK INHERENTLY THE SAME UNTIL THE FRUIT.

Peace.
