Bud Rot Outdoors Questions

image.jpg I have some outdoor bud rot questions. My plant is in its last two weeks of flowering... Attached is a picture of the plant after I removed the moldy buds. As you can see the stem looks rotting a bit...

1) from my research I have learned to spray one parts milk to nine parts water. Do I spray only leaves or do I spray the buds as well?

2) yesterday I removed all the parts that seem to have bud rot. It was only on two small buds. I picked off some other buds to smoke And test to see if they're ready. How do I tell if those have some beginning stages of bud rot? I don't seem to see any of the powdery substance on them but it's hard to tell. Is there way to know for sure?

3) how does using baking soda and water compare to using milk?

4) I read somewhere that if a plan starts getting dead brown leaves that could be molding as well. Could this potentially be a sign of something else to? I have another plant in a different spot that has Browning leaves that are dying but there doesn't seem to be any mold...

5) do I preventative spray all my plans with the milk spray even the ones without mold?

6) lastly, as you can see in the picture the stem looks like it's rotting a bit. Is that a really bad sign? Are the other buds smokable on the plant right now?

Are solutions to treat the stem different?

Pulling the infected buds off wont fix it, Botrytis is airborn. idk about milk but I know baking soda will dry up the cell wall of the mold.Spray the whole plant, buds and all. No solutions for just stem, all the same.

You dont have it too bad..I dont know if i would go by the dead brown leaves theory..usually it'll look like light bird shit(transparent white..ish) on a leaf or two. thats what I look for. I dont see much of a difference between milk and bakin soda..used both although the baking soda smells nice when you spray it. I spray the whole plant ,stems,buds,leaves. Youll know the bud w/ rot in/on it. Its very brown n brittle. Other bud should be good to smoke after dried n cured. I also switch between the baking soda /water to dish soap n water. Its also good preventive measure to shake the shit outta them after a good rain. I AINT NEVER HIT A WOMAN>>>BUT I"LL SHAKE THE SHIT OUTTA ONE!!

Thanks, are the other buds which look normal smokeable? I'm just scared to smoke mold by accident...

Thanks for the response... Shake the plant? Also Should I move the plant far away from my others... It's growing in a container.. Also the mold I found wasn't white but brown..

I tried the milk and water thing last year which provided little to no help and made my buds smell like bad milk. Be careful removing the infected bud and don't spread the mold spores. It's a bitch bro. Watch it like a hawk, because I lost entire colas that looked fine one day and were mush the next. Oh yeah, ditch that strain or the pheno next year.

Pick the dead leaves and mold as much as you can. If you are looking for a spray on treatment, you might consider a product called Serenade. It is an anti-fungal concentrate that works well. Some people spray with this BEFORE any mold appears as a precaution, it is said to have a systemic quality and helps a plant fight off mold before it happens. Good luck.

The mold on the bud will be all brown and shit colored....when you see a few leaves that look like they have random white stuff...that is your first indication that mold is starting on that plant. As a preventative measure ..Yes I would move the plant away from others!!

Just went and did that now! Hope the bunnies don't like the new spot ;)

I also replanted and put different earth.

I repotted a couple of plants while I was there and there were tons of red ants at the bottom... I shook them out but it was pretty out of control...

Some of the other plants had gray kind of Bettle looking things...

Anyway since you seem to know growing well do you think you could take a look at my other thread and let me know what this problem is. I can't seem to figure it out

Also don't forget bud worms can cause this rot also

Actinovate .http://www.naturalindustries.com/retail/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=13&Itemid=3 this actually works its all you will need for any type of fungus or mold or mildew. Its amazing organic stuff.

You need to get some fungicide and spray the whole thing. Spray every 5 days or so if environment is perfect for the botrytis ( 60-70f and high humidity), if it rains on her, that means the fungicide washed off, get out and spray her again

Bud rot is a bitch... There's really not much you can do but cut away the infected area and treat it with a spray... And even then it could come back and spread.

If your plant is close to done i'd suggest just taking it now, especially if there's more wet weather in the forecast.

This is the same problem I experienced last year.this year I plan to use seranade as a preventative measure.
