Bud rot?

I found what I think is bud rot today on a lower bud. Growing outdoors in the ground. Past couple of days has been rainy and overcast. Sunny today and kinda windy tonight. I cut the bud off and trimmed the good part away to dry and sample. No sign of worms or bugs but will spend some time with my girls tomorrow looking for them as it got dark on me when I was with them this evening.

Solid advice. Think that’s what I’ll do. Thanks. I haven’t smoked in months. Waiting another month or so ain’t gonna kill me. The way this year has been, I shouldn’t chance smoking this.

Well I found more on a different plant today. May have to cut early so I can salvage what I can.
There are two types of bud rot--the stuff from budworms poop and the stuff cause by excessive moisture. If its the budworms you should be alright to go longer, you just have to take care of the worms before they poop over the rest of the plant. If its budrot caused by moisture then it is systemic in the whole plants, including the roots. And the budrot might contaminate that soil for future grows. If that's the case and it were me, I'd chop and drop the whole thing. It hurts but better healthy than sick. Good luck!

Thanks for the quick reply. I’m down at my grow site now. I haven’t seen any evidence of worms and as of now everything looks free of rot but I know that could change pretty fast. I have a few grows under my belt but this is the first time I’ve put any real effort into it. I’m really hoping I can hold out as long as possible. They’re just from bag seed but the experience, up to now has been good for my soul.
