Bud Storage to freeze or not to freeze, that is the question

Ok, so harvest is still a few weeks away but already I am thinking/worrying about how best to store my bud. Based on how things look right now, I expect to have around six months work of dry bud to store (one modest smoker). What is the best way to do it? I have read differing opinions re freezing bud. Some say it is the best way, others say that it breaks the trichomes and causes degeneration of all the good stuff........so what do you think? How long will well dried bud keep without loosing its potency?

I thought you just keep it in the fridge.
Another thing to do is keep your bud in many small jars in a dark cool place. This is also know as curing. Just open them once in a few months to check for mold. The longer you keep your bud in these jars the better the smoke will be.

Just get some air tight canning jars to put your bud in. If you were going to put it in the freezer i would invest in some vac-seal bags, and then place the vac-seal bags in the jars, and then in freezer. Thats just my opinion.

I've heard freezing can deteriorate thc. The best is probably airtight canning jars or some kind of vaccuum seled container, and then in a dark cool place. I know of buds stored ten years that way and they were perfect.

The only thing you have to worry about storing bud in the freezer is the trics breaking off if you handle it a lot. Tale what you need and put it in a jar or something, that way you are not going into the freezer and moving you stash around alot.

I'm a firm believer in what works best for you. Try both... put some in the freezer, like an ounze (I can't really tell you what works for me as I haven't kept weed long enough to "store" it anywhere but my coffee table) and the rest in jars in the dark.. try em both and whichever you like better, do it all that way from here on in.

never store buds in the freezer as the trichomes will break of the buds like ice poles.
even when handled gently.

Many people have asked for the best way to store their marijuana and keep it as potent as possible. Storing your cannabis buds and keeping it fresh and potent is not as difficult as you might think. But many people believe that freezing your buds is the way to go for maximum freshness and potency. THIS IS NOT TRUE - IT IS A MYTH AND I'LL TELL YOU WHY. And, keeping it only in clear plastic bags is NOT ideal either (another popular belief). After all your work in growing your prized buds, you want to keep it fresh and potent for as long as you have it. When you grew your marijuana you waited until the trichomes (resin glands) were just right before your harvest so that you would have the best potency you could from those plants.
When you freeze marijuana buds, you freeze those potent little trichomes as well (like icicles). This makes them stiff and brittle and actually makes them fall off and break off the buds. The more you handle the buds in and out of the freezer, the more you lose those active ingredients that make the pot get you high.
Yep, they freeze and actually break-off the buds and fall into whatever bag or container you have, making the weed less potent. All plastic bags have some static, even this static attracts the resin glands that you are trying to protect and keep intact. While I recommend using glass sealable
canning jars i do not recommend freezing your weed or handling it more than is necessary.

Ideal Storage: Keep the quantity of marijuana you wish to store separate from your daily use stash. Put it in brown bags (or any dark paper), then place it in your ziploc bags and remove any air that you can. Refrigerate, or keep in a cool place where there is little activity preventing any constant movement or handling. This will keep your cannabis both fresh and potent for a very long time.

you know one of those brown paper bags that your mother used to put your lunch in... or one that a drunk would hide his alcohal in public with... thats is what you should store your plastic bag in.. becuase plastic atracts the thc from the bud... and therefore when you take weed out of the bag it would leave some thc behind.. dont freeze the bud becuase then all the thc will break of.. thats y you freeze your bud before making hash with it.. so put your buds in a brown plastin bag and then put the bag in a air tight container.. this is perfect becuase know stranger wil be able to see the bud, the bud will be in complete darkness.(which is good for potencey) AND THE THC WILL BE AIR TIGHT SO YOU WONT LOSSE ANY:p

I know this is old but I have to straighten something out. Freezing bud absolutely unequivocally most certaintly DOES decrease potency! Trichomes are basically tiny bubbles filled with thc, cbd, and cbn, when you freeze your bud those bubbles bust or pop and break off also reducing potency. The best way for storing bud is to try it in open brown paper sacs for roughly 7 days. The paper sac pulls the moisture out of the buds and ensures they are completely dry. They must be 100% cured because then they go into air tight mason jars. Store them at room temp in a closet, you can store them this was for 100 years if you wanted and it would be just as potent as the day you stored it. The thing is zero moisture or the buds will mold. This is the reason for the paper sac, it wicks ALL the moisture out of the buds. If it werent for dust you could leave a bud sitting out at room temp for years and years and it will be just as potent as the day it was placed there. Glass mason jars will also keep your perfectly dried buds from absorbing nasty stale moisture out of the air. So freezing buds? a NO NO!!

if you have a lot to store, you can use the freezer, but you need to make sure you're down close to where you want to be as far as rh goes before you freeze it. the more moisture in the frozen material, the more cellular rupture damage you're going to get. that's why frost fucks up plants. you also want it to be sealed, airtight, or it'll dry out so bad it'll turn to dust when you touch it

i've got access to a good vacuum packer, and have discovered that it will turn shit into brick weed if you aren't very careful with the vacuum pressure. i would actually suggest vacuum packing the jars with the weed in them, if you're going to be storing long term. no worry about oxidization, and no worry about bricking
