Bud tips but no flowers

I have a quick question. I am using two 600 hps and potted plants. I have been budding for 5 weeks and had great fat buds. Then all of a sudden over a few days the tips grew out but never filled out with flowers. Could this be due to too much N? Could there be a PH problem? (if so, how to adjust simply?)

Maybe someone can throw in some advice. What is the most economical nutrients out there. Been using foxfarm but hard times it is getting expensive.

Thanks guys (and gals)

dont know about your flower issue...do you know the strain? i was using FF nutes and ran into same problem....its expensive...i dont have that disposable income:cry: try just getting the "house brand" i have found great results from a 3-step house nute called Davids Grow....its a house brand and very cheap in comparison.

Peace

Here is the bud problem. I did not know if it was a N problem or something different. This is going on 6th week in bud cycle in 12/12. The bottoms were filling out and then over three to four days grew these tips with little to no flowers. Will it fill out? Can I get it to fill out? Appreciate any help.

No major light leaks. I have had the same set up for a while. Lights working fine on timers. Now I did do one thing which I forgot. I added some grow in the recommended dosage one day as I saw some lower and middle leaves turning yellow and dying. Was not sure if this was the stage of the plant getting close to being mature, or gave too much nutrients. So I gave it a shot. I use foxfarm with the supplimate powders. Could it be too much N or something lacking. I dont see anything like it posted. two of my plants did this. Thanks for replying.

Well, I'm satisfied that this^ is what caused it. Too much N and whatever the hell was in the "suppliment powders".
Unusual feeding can equal unusual effects. You might think about a flush and then feed with some P and K and see if it will fill in a bit.
Live and learn...:joint::peace:

Hey man,

If you are going to be adding more P and K to the soil, someone sent me this link-- Gives you examples of organic fertilizers and reg. ones, and breaks down the NPK concentrations too. It helped me, so figured you may benefit from it aswell-- check it out, and good luck :) http://www.onlinepot.org/grow/NPKCharts.htm
