bud worms......how i find them

Bt can be used on vegetables up to the day of harvest. i stop spraying at least 10 days prior to harvest.

Thanks for the info and welcome... been lurking for a week or so since I found the forum.

Very informative.

I am a bit naive to outdoor growing having spent most of my life in Alaska... not much worry about bud worms up there hehe.

Guess I'll just take my chances, my grow is pretty much au natural. Still have 3-4 weeks to go.
 
BUd worms have been eating my leaves and it's very apparent when you've got worms, they like the leaves and the stigmas. You will see clear signs of worms if you have them. Bites out of the leaves, missing stigmas...you gotta take your time and examine the plant at least once if not twice a day and keep the intruders out. My plants are ready for harvest in about two weeks and it seems that with every passing day, small bugs and fruit flies and what now are more and more attracted to her, and so am i...

no way... crazy ass bud worms... they would eat flowers as soon as they would eat our buds!!!
can you set up decoys? nice buddy looking things around your plants so they say ohh look at that bud and I dont have to go far to get it?
 
ive never heard of this. However I have found a little green one in one of the plants we harvested early. They are in a totally diff. area than the 7 or so that I have left so hopefully those ones arent affected.
I havent used any bug killer.

Argh, you guys are bummin' me out...

I have no opportunity to check for worms on mine... and last time I saw it there was something that had been munchin' on the leaves.

Two things I have found may help others. Worm eggs live inside the cannabis seeds. They will sometimes emerge in the seed container, but will die without moisture. So inspecting seed containers gives you an idea about possible infestation. Secondly, submersing the seeds into a cup of water to germinate may be a better choice than soaking in a paper towel, because the worms can't easily be seen in paper towels. In a water bath the worms emerge into the water and drownd.

Also, I believe one species of these larva is house fly's. So keep the wing critters down. And finally, "dead" seeds may not germinate because they have eggs implanted in them. So flush all dead seeds to prevent infestation, from late emerging eggs.
