Budget Grow Room Enclosure

I bought a grow house and quickly realized that id spend forever trying to regulate the temperature as the grow house is in the barn. It literally leaked heat so I decided to build an enclosure and insulate it as best i could for my budget ($150) My thinking is itll be cheaper to keep warm and easier to control the environment my plants grow in.

The grow house is 1.2m x 1.2m x 2.0m
LED light
Two Cheese plants to go in when its done

Here are the pics so far, have a look and leave any comments you like. good or bad ha ha

My question is, why waste the money building this if your just going to throw a tent in there?, If I where you I turn that box into a dual closet have one side for flowering & one side for veg, an use the tent to keep a mother or something

That's a great question. I was loathed to trash the tent when I'd spent money on it, If I knew then what I know now I would've just built the room and not bought a tent at all. I like the idea of adding a veg/grow room. I might have to, I have some lemon ice seeds sprouting!! I am a newbie to this kind of stuff so germinated seeds not realising I'd need a separate veg area. I'll have to look into adding a shelf or something!!

Yeah I understand I have a pc grow box I brought that I don't need any more I got a tent for flowering, a cabinet for veg, but you can always resell the tent, if you take good care of the tent an clean it,

you should just put a wall in the middle instead of a shelf so this way if you have to(or want to) veg for longer you have the space

Problem is my LED is very large and if I cut the room in half it'd be too hot! I'll probably get a temporary fix and look at a more permanent solution after this grow. This is my first ever grow so I'm kinda learning on the job.

I got you all beat, starter room for $35, old but like new 60" projector screen TV box, it was the first 60" they came out with, I bought it, I think it was in the 90s and if I remeber right the damn thing cost over $2.500, and weighed about 500 pounds on rollers, the box it came in was super heavy duty, 3/4 inch cardboard sides with 1x2x5 wood strips in each corner and 1x2 wood strips in a square frame top and bottom and the bottom had a 1/2 peace of plywood with 2x2 strips under it, its 35" inches wide 69"long 61"tall, cut the top off, lowerd a 4 foot t8 light fixture down in it, then cut a door in front, only cutting three sides, using one corner of the box as a hinge, roll of clear tape, heavy duty tin foil.
1. box= free
2. t8 shop grade light fixture, walmart $12.00
3. two t8 buls=$7.00
4. tape=$3.00
5. tin foil=$5.00
6. digital timmer $8.00
7. adds up to $35.00

I have another box, that's twice as heavy duty as that tv box, let me tell you a little story, I was going to a friends that lives in another county 30 miles away, I only go over there 4 or 5 times a year, on the way I seen some dumpsters, but I was going to fast to stop, I alreay knew they were there, but this time I had 5 trash bags full in the bed of my truck, and then I remeberd their's some more dumpsters 5 miles up the road. I see the dumpsters and pull in there and backed up and got out, and as I was getting my last bag of trash out, a longwheel base truck pulled up with a box that hunge over both edges and out the back 3 foot with the tail gate down, he kept going and pulled off to the side away from the dumpsters and parked, I had to go over there and take a look upclose at that damn box, I didn't know they made such a box, as I was walking over there a man gets out the truck with a chain saw in his hand, I'm right there beside him now and I ask what the hell came in that box, he said two complete put together $3.500 massage therapy chairs, him and coworker had to go to the freight company and they loaded it onto my trailer with a forklift, but now that its empty it only weighs about 350 pounds, I said it weighs 350 empty, he said cause it has a 2x4 frame and sandwiched inbetween two wooden pallets, it had a wooden pallet on the floor inside the box that the frame was nail to and a pallet on the bottom underneath the box that was nail to the pallet inside the box. Already a long story, try to shorten it up, the chain saw he had was for cutting up the box/crake so it would fit into the dumpsters, needless to say that bad boy went home with me, and the guy was super happy to help me pull it onto the bed of my truck and even gave me the rope to tie it down with, he said he's just glad he didn't have to cut that damn thing up, I said me too. I brought it home and took it apart because it took up to much space, and that was in my shop, it was all huge staples and the frame and floor was nail gun nails. But looks brand new with out a scratch on it. ill use it one day, just like the tv box that I kept for 14 years before needing it, my wife told me to burn it a 100 times, cause I was never going to use it.
