Budrot - hope I found it early enough

Hey guys,

I was really shocked when I saw the brown spot today. It was around the size of my thumbnail. Think the perfect example for budrot.
I took it off (hope I did not spread more of the fungus around), also the bud on the opposite side of the stem. Stem looks good, I applied some hydrogen peroxide on it.

Unfortunately I get on holiday on Monday for a week (Amsterdam! :bigjoint:). Tomorrow I'm going to get some kind dehumidifier, these absorber boxes. Hope that will avoid anymore of this.

Humidity is about 60% at day, up to 70-80% at night. I know, way too high. Three fans inside (one oscillating) but still budrot.
So anyone who reads this: Take care of the humidity in flowering.

Any advice from the experts appericated.

You need a dehumidifier...the boxes of absorbent most likely won't be effective...better than nothing, but not effective. 80% RH with lights off, is bad for flowering, hence the bud rot. Your grow looks close to being done...think I'd be cancelling my plans or you may come back to a complete disaster. Good luck.

Thank you! Luck is what I need now. Can't cancel the holiday, my girlfriend would kill me. My plan was to harvest on next sunday when I come back. I re-arranged one fan so the lower parts get besser circulation. Hope this helps. Maybe the budrot was also result of the use of Bloombastic/PK Booster and some water deposit in the bud because of that. Read somewhere that pk booster could lead to bud mold.

I'll hope for the best and keep you updated next week. God ganja may be good to me!

Nah, nothing to do with the ph boosts.. just humidity.. you should try to get it to 45-50% with lights on and 55-60% lights off... unfortunately, with 80% humidity, all of your bigger and denser buds will very likely end up with mold, and sadly, it tends to be the nicest cola buds that are affected as they are generally your densest buds.

You absolutely need to lower humidity if you don’t want to be very sad when you get home. Best of luck!!! Be safe and be happy!!

You can blow humid air around all you want, not gonna help. The reason to keep the air moving is to prevent areas from just accumulating humidity, doesn't take a lot to prevent that. You will need some form of dehumidification, especially when the lights are off. Keep the RH% below 50. When the lights go off the temperature drops and this causes the RH% to rise since cold air holds less water. Using a space heater when the lights are off can help keep the RH% from spiking but really a dehumidifier is the key.

When you come back you will be sad as without environmental correction you are going to get more rot. Have a happy vacation, it's just weed, you can grow more.

If you setup a dehuey before you leave on vacation you will want to plumb it to a drain so it won't fill up and shut off.
Solid advice... not sure how big your grow is/how many plants, but regardless, it’s almost a sure thing you will fill the chamber in whichever dehumidifier you choose. Also keep in mind, dehumidifiers put out a fair amount of heat, so remember to make sure your temps stay in a good range when you add one!!

You saved my ass with this advice in mid September renfro.
Outdoor in a gehetto greenhouse. Dehumidifier and space heater. Have not had humidity and rot issues since

Thanks guys, you made it clear that I have to react. Yeah, I could grow another batch but I would lose around half a year of work and energy costs.

I now sealed my window better so that the moist air can get no way back inside the room with my tent. Yeah, I had to do this earlier but I tried to avoid it.
Worked well with my first grow, but that was only one plant. Now there are three of them in a 3x3 tent.
I also increased the temperature in my room from 63F to 70F, that should also lower the RH.
Getting a electrical dehumidifier from a friend tomorrow morning. So I think I'm good to go.

Hope that helps at this late stage. Should have done this earlier. I will check my plants tonight for mold and hope that I will don't have a bad surprise when I come back in a week.

Thanks for your serious advice!
