buds feel waxy, help!!!

im 3 days into curing and my buds have an almost waxy feel to them. when they have been in the jar for 24hrs they get sticky then once i burp them they feel really waxy. im wondering is this normal??? and the smell seems to be getting worse not better. i know i probably have fucked this up but it would be nice to get a decent smoke from this, any insight would be great.

i hung dried them for 3 days in my cupboard. 19c and 55%RH. they felt sticky and the stems near the buds would crack but not break when i bent them so i stuck into jars on monday, but tuesday they felt too damp so i took them out for 12 hours. fine again. smell started to fade slightly and im getting a tea/hay like smell. put back into jars. loosely. left 24 hrs then burped for 30 mins. the smell is getting worse. left in jars for another 24 hours. buds feel sticky. left open for 30 mins and now i have the waxy feeling.

hmm never felt the waxy feeling before, before but it sounds like u shoul dbe ok just make sure them buds aint to wett to be jarring up you dont wanna get mold

im keeping a very close eye on them. i have split my harvest between 2 jars even though it would have fitted into one. and ive taken a couple buds to stick in my pipe and they tasted ok. not great. worse when i tried to roll a joint. very green chemical taste. smells nicer when you pick the buds apart. slightly concerned abiut this waxy feeling. its hard to describe. its probably ruptured trichomes. they are oil based so it could give this oily/waxy effect. not sure. we'll see in a few more days tbh

did you give the plants a good flush before harvest and do you got any harvest pics of em. was it completely mature when you picked it?

no mate, i had to pick it early as the smell was way too strong. and i cant do nothing about it for a while (broke ). and no i didnt flush as i was using individual bubble bucket. harvest wasnt planned, my neighbour knocked and asked me to either stop growing or do something about the smell (i never told them i was growing) so i freaked out a bit and chopped her down. im working on the odour.

hmm ok well that might be why it smells and taste funny. premature bud dont always taste to great. but if you cure it long enough it will be decent smoke. how far from being done was it? i would have freaked out to if someone told me they could smell it.

about 3 weeks off. there are still quite a few clear trichs. id say about 20% clear 65% milky and 15% amber. ive sprouted my next seed (ak4 gonna veg for about 5-6 weeks same as the white widow. so that gives me about 5-6 weeks to fix the smell issue. wish me luck!! im gonna cure for a month or so, hopefully i end with something decent from it. the high from it is decent. not very long but decent all the same. its definately a high rather than stoned though. i prefer couch lock as im a rec not a med user. i smoke to forget not keep going lol

3 days is not nearly long enough dry time to cure unless you are giving them 12 hours of open air time a day for another week. 5-7 days drying before jarring minimum.

dam what a shame to pick early, i woulda still let them grow out, and left a nug on his doorstep when its all cured up good. i heard the ak48 is a smelly strand i just picked some beans up, how bad (or good) was the smell off that ak? did u just have one plant?

Yeah they will feel waxy. Its like they sweat when u jar them for a while. If anyone says they dont know what youre talking about then they never cured bud..
