Buds for Less - CFL BOOK

Hey, Im growing 250 watt CFL's and am loving it.
I could help you get that in the head shops up here in scotland. We are all starting to use CFL's and more info,, more power.......x

Just started my first CFL grow under the guidance of Sir SeeMoreBuds and Buds for Less. I've got an 8 42w CFL indoor setup so follow my grow if you're interested. Any veteran help or advice would be greatly appreciated.

Went through the book, really good book, easy and quick read.

One question though. In the book he says before sprouting the light was kept on 18 hours a day. Then he says the light was on 24 hours a day. I didn't see another mention of the light cycle he was using until he started flowering.

So where his lights on 24 hours a day all through germination and vegging. I'm a bit confused on this part.

I am shocked at the amzing bud you can get with CFL and FL lights! On bluelight they tried too tell me that HID>CFL. What you think? Because I was going too go get a 250W HID light for my 6 plants but after seeing this I'm thinking I may just up my CFL game.

The thing that most people don't realize about Buds for Less is that it's NOT a tell-all encyclopedia to growing cannabis with CFLs. The book is meant to be an individual's grow journal, though an incredibly detailed and organized one at that. Several questions and concerns related to growing are not answered in the pages directly, but if someone takes the time to search these forums and different threads, almost any growing issue can be resolved. I'm growing my own garden with the help of SeeMoreBuds, and so far his advice and knowledge has been extremely helpful. CFLs are a great way to successfully grow a nice crop, and Buds for Less demonstrates this very well.

hey whats up everyone! im a newbie to the site so idk if this is the right forum to post in so please excuse me if its not... but just have a really quick question.. so ive always grown outdoors, but ive decided to start my first indoor grow. i have a cfl setup with 2-100w cool white cfl's and 1-120w bright white cfl. i also have a 150w hps light. so my question is should i use the cfl setup for the smaller plants that are vegging and then switch them over to the hps for flowering or should i just keep them under the cfl's throughout the whole grow?? i figure it will be better to have them under the hps for flowering but i wasnt sure if it is safe start them under cfl's and then switch them to hps to flower. so i guess what im asking is should i use either one or the other or would it be a good idea if i veg them under cfl and flower under hps?

im spanish and i am very surprised... there are people using thousands W CFL for flowering plants!! omg its a waste of money. One thing is to use a couple of bulbs for fencing and maintaining cuttings, and another is a waste of your energy. Here in spain is so easy get HPS kits, so I've missed seeing so many thousands of watts of CFL in their grow and complex structures they did

dude this is amazing. literally given all hope of growing with my kind of budget untill i saw this... and im not just saying that either.

I found this site from the book. I think I'm the only one that did it backwards! Great info in the book, GK keep up the good work. I used to work at a B&N, the # of grow books in stock was growing (pun intended). It's were I found my copies of the Cannabible and various other grow guides. Also check out Borders their grow section was expanding last time I was in.

Nope, thats how I got here too! Read the book and thought it looked like something I could make happen!

The part that I like about the book the most was the idea of putting the lights in a triangle shape. I am actually planning on modding that a bit for my grow with a Hydrofarm 125 on the top and the four "bottom" lights around the base.

can i flower with out 2700k? or do they need them to start flowering my plants have are already been on 12/12 for 7days and still nothing when will they show flowers or do they need 2700s?

u need 2700k for flowering

I built a frame of 1x4 inch wood drilled holes and installed lamp bases like you use in floor lamps or table lamps for replacement 10 of the GE 26w 1750 lumen bulbs in a 2.5 sq ft 5 ft tall box. It's sweet but I'm wonderin about your assertion I saw before of needing to have your cfl's 1" from the plants and I'm growin under a scrog screen. I think the scrog is optimal for cfl's.

I have a copy of your book went through one garden tat was awesome, and i am doing a second with some questions, can i messg you?

I just read the book there and it was very impressive. I just have a few questions. I just want to confirm that the seedling, not a clone, was put into flowering 16 days after it sprouted? Is this common practice or would a longer veg period usually be required to get up to 3 oz off 1 plant? It is ok to take a clone up to a week after the plant is put into flowering? I felt that watering and neutes weren't mentioned as often as I thought they would be. Is there days in the book that these details were left out or is it only on the days mentioned that watering etc actually occured? was the plant really chopped 69 days after it sprouted as a seed? Yielding several oz? And finally, were there no fans involved like exhaust, intake etc? They're the Qs I have, if anyone could clarify some of these for me I would appreciate it. Thanks in advance.

P.S just in case I've come across as sarcastic or anything like that, I don't mean to. I am a complete novice and they're legit questions. Some of process seems to nearly be too good to be true.
