Buds growing slow

Hi, I'm on my first grow and my plant has been in the flowering stage for about 8 weeks but the buds don't seem to be as big as they should? The hairs are turning orange so it's definetely maturing. Any ideas?

At 8 weeks you're probably done. Post a pic and we can get a better idea. What kind is it? Indicas run shorter than sativa.

Toss up some pics.. some strains take a hell of a lot longer than 8 weeks. Just an example I have a strain that I run 14 weeks in flower and I've seen other people run.strains longer than that!

You should attach photos and all the information regarding your grow. Type of soil, type of lights, how far away the lights are, what your temps are lights on and lights off. Your humidity, how often you water. Give us everything you can think of because we might be able to get them to suddenly swell up! That would be good right? You'd feel a ton better knowing either way so go for the easy win here bud.

I'm guessing not enough watts really could be lack of feeding but not sure if plants are dwindling from end of life cycle or from previous I would need earlier photos to be sure

It's just not enough light to make decent buds. If you aren't waiting until the planter is extremely dry this hurts yield also and it is the reason hydro has a high growth rate, oxygen. I would explain why but it is borIng. I am not saying wait until they droop before watering but those who get the closest without damaging the roots have the largest yields.

Lights too far away, not nearly enough intensity coming from a point source at that height.
Possibly temps too high further increasing stretch.
Definetly p/k burned.

You could chop now, it is your plant after all :) there is a lil mix of everything going on, overfed and a lil overwatered I'd say, and the lights are a bit far, if possible in the future can you possibly position the bulbs around the upper sides of the plant? Also, maybe because I'm smoked out, i have to ask....is that mylar or foil?

Ok great thank you guys. P/k burned? Mute burned? What do these mean?
I would stop with the compost and just use tap water for a week or maybe two if she starts moving again, then harvest it on the day you normally water but a few hours before the lights come on. "nute burned" or "p/k burned" means you've given too much nutrients and/or the incorrect NPK ratios by looking at those tips and the yellowing of leaves exposed to light. It also looks like it got slightly locked out somehow which brings me to my next question, what exactly is your compost/soil method? Whats in it? How do you prep it? You could use better lights and a fan, It would greatly benefit you and you won't regret it.

The compost is made mostly of old fruit rinds, coffee grounds, those sort of things mixed with some soil from my outdoor plant bed. This is a very easy homemade indoor grow. Now that I know how everything works, I'll definetely look into a fan and better lights.
