Hey guys , so I have a rntz auto which is just about ready to harvest . I took one bud off a little premature the other day early and dried it . However I'm noticing it smells very planty or grassy like still . Doesnt smell like bud yet .. anyone know the problem?

It was a small bud . Hung it upside down for about 2 days . Seems fairly dry right now but doesn't smell like how it should

When it comes to smell and smoking quality(smoothness and how well it burns), the drying process is major!! I also go 7+ days, usually closer to 10-14 days but that all depends on how well you can control the environment they are drying in. After the initial drying, once the feel just a little crispy on the outer edges, but is clearly still moist inside I break down the buds off the branch and put them into a brown paper bag. They stay there another 7-14 days and get shaken around each day to ensure the moisture in the buds spreads around evenly to them all. After several days in the bad I'll start pulling out a little piece to test. If it burns nice and smells and tastes nice then it goes into jars for storage. If it doesn't burn smoothly and still has moisture in it then it stays in the bags for a few more days.

Would it work if I cut the plants and hang them in the grow tent even with the lights on as other plants are still growing? Because the temperature and humidity in there is good , however I have plants in there still

honestly everyone will give you different answers. my answer is you did not grow the dank. when i burly started growing all my bud sucked none of it smelled like fire it was all bunk garbage!. if the bud does not smell like fire immediately after you dry it than you probably grew some crappy weed.

my only tip is start using UVB/UVA spectra in flower to increase terpene profiles and other cannabinoid's.

good luck with future grows sorry this one came out wack :(.

remember the reason cannabis smells amazing is because of terpene's. the cure doesnt increase "terpene profiles". it doesnt make your plant produce more terpenes. so curing will not make your weed go from smelling like "garbage to the dank". the cure simply breaks down chlorophyll.

What could the problem be . I mean I know there could be 1000x , however I feel I did the majority of the grow right . 18/6 light cycle , in coco with perile , watering with nutritions every other day. Trained the plants wells. I'll post more pics.

My grow tent temp is 23 degrees C or about 73F and humidity is about 55% . Could the buds go in the corner of the grow tent if they are not being hit by light ?

I only pulled one bud . Just to get a test or feel for it . The plant is still safe and sound. I want to make sure I cure it right

The hay smell is just the flower drying
That's been my experience. It's the chlorophyll coming off. The other main reason I've found for lack of smell is poor genetics. Sadly you don't know what the genetics are from seed until you actually run them. So there's some luck involved in that. But over the time I've been growing I've never mistreated a plant until it had no smell and I've borked a bunch of grows over the years LOL.

Also when you quick dry a nug for testing you are only testing for high. Until it's properly dried you won't get the actual final product's smell/taste. But quick drying will give you a better picture of your final product's high vs trichomes and have encouraged people to take test nugs.
