Buds outdoor 2013

So its official one day fairly soon I will be doing a bho run. got all the shit I need. tube,vac chamber, heat gun. got the 60 gram tube, going big. and I will be using a little heat. It seems necessary to purge it correctly. But before that, I plan on using some iso and cleaning my dirty bubble bags and some jars to see what that's like. rinse it all into a dish and let it evaporate. Might be a while before the extraction but the wheels are in motion.
 
Ended up cleaning my bubble bags and doing a qwiso run after that. also did a 2nd run with the same batch and was green but the oil looks good. Didn't freeze anything and didn't filter the bag cleaning so there was a shitload of trichs in there messing me up. Did decent with the qwiso considering no freeze. and filtered it so its pure. also got everything ready to do a big ass run of bho. I went from dry sieve to bubble bags to iso and on to bho all in one season. hopefully it goes good.

first pic is what came in my new vac chamber, a smelly metallic oily substance. Im sure it has something to do with galvanizing or something but it needed to be wiped out before use. and then you can see how not filtering will give you non oil impurities (these are all trichs that should have been filtered.) and some shots of it drying and scraping. the sticky oil is where its at. some pics you can see the water (white looking) before it dries (I used 91%).

I got lucky in the way I had the plate leaning, when I tilted it flat to dry the trichs stayed on one side while the oils spread out.*
 
some shots of my ghetto way to heat (I need a griddle) and my vac chamber sucking out the iso. you can see the bubbles!

Some pics of the new wax. its not too bad for my first run. finally got it to that hard taffy and can touch it without making a mess. first pic is what I had left of the bag wash. and then the qwiso run I did (the first run) took longer to make than the bubble hash but easier IMO. and I would say more productive too. as far as lasting longer.

I would like to get a dabber setup. Ive just been topping bowls, id like to try It pure Columbian. Did more vac puring but did use my spaceheater to raise the temps. got that 2nd run I want to purge one more time.

riu has been slow as hell lately and cant upload any pics but the bho went pretty good. feel like iso is easier to purge. nice golden color. pics to come.
 
Sup mrM, yea I really tried it all after doing some research. I would say bubble bags were kindof a hassle with all the ice and water and waiting for bags to drain. But definatly way better/productive than dry sieving by hand with screens. Iso was surprisingly easy and I think produced more product than bho, but with a darker color and a little harsher. The Bho has been nice but I wouldn't take primo buds and convert, that would be a waste. I like taking dabs on top of ashes. all you need is one nice dab and it feels like smoking a whole bowl. very efficient. I actually woke up In the middle of the night and couldn't get back to sleep, took a dab and slept like a rock for 6 more hours. hopefully ill get those pics up soon, ive been taking a break from riu.

look into dry ice hash. that's the route I think Im gonna go, but I do plan to look at other extraction methods
 
^ ive looked into it and it seems like it would be a quick and simple way but I don't know where the hell you would get dry ice. and I think im set on BHO. I never got around to taking pics of It and its all gone but it came out very nice. and was a lot easier than dealing with bubble bags. IDK where you live, but Lucky's super markets have dry ice.
 
Whats up with the new riu? pretty snazzy. I couldn't even get on for a while. But its almost time to get a new thread for this year going. still smoking on last years harvest and pretty sure it will go all the way to this fall.

^and I think im sticking with BHO, I got the whole setup so I think im sticking with that. (much easier than bubble bags, I doubt ill ever use those again)
