Anyone see those bug lite cfl's? They sell em at walmart and are yellow. Whats your input on putting one in the grow area as a precaution for your growroom

Cause I'm a consumer and not paid to say otherwise. They give off light that won't attract certain bugs, as opposed to a white light that will attract. It's not a repellant.
Edit: Even it's own description says "reduced attraction", but neglects to say its reduced compared to white light. Lol.

DO3SHA: According to Green, in his growers bible, "The stink/smell we perceive is an insect repellent that the plants produce themselves." If you keep your grow space hospital clean and you don't bring in insects on your person from the outside then you shouldn't have a problem. I take care of my inside garden before venturing outside. If by chance I have to reverse the order I strip, shower and change clothes before I go into my inside garden. That's what I was taught and it seems to work. I hope that helps. HSA

I think the point eveyone is missing is:
1 Yes - There are less bugs around a yellow bug bulb in place of a white bulb OUTDOORS.
2 No - Dos3 An INDOOR garden shouldnt have a bunch of insects flying about it in the first place.

I noticed less spiders outdoors when I changed my backyard spotlight to a cfl. (white light)
Maybe I'll change it back. The spiders were a great bug patrol.

you are all missing the point. Im not saying any garden has a bunch of bugs flying around, what I was saying is ive seen alot of gardens on here that people have al kinds of insect problems, as a precaution this bulb might work. My garden is and will always be pest free, I make sure i clean and sanatize my cab once a week it was just an idea because i saw them in walmart

the whole point is, do you think the light could be harmful to plants thats it nothing else this is what i was asking

No harm to plants but do not expect to grow with it.Your intended purpose is even flawed.
What is your primary smoke? It must be some good shit.

I did not think you would grow with it but your application made me wonder.I use bug lights for my front door cause I hated when a regular light when on would have bugs swarming around it very near my main entrance. Now picture this:If I used the bug light but also had a much more powerfull light next to it that the bugs are attracted too...It would completely defeat the purpose of the bug light.
Does this scenerio describe your application?
Bug lights do work except an occasional moth but any other light would cancel out the bug light because the bugs will see that.

Any bugs flying crawling around my grow gets shop vacumed up or sticky trapped.
