Bugs and other unwanted critters of the forrest.

Hey everyone im doing my first outdoor grow these year, with some experiance indoors. I'm just wondering all your tips and tricks to keep away all those unwanted pest at bay. I dont want to here about, oh use human hair or pee all over the place those r no brainers... but what products work best for spraying around your crop on other plants as a barrier to keep everything away... any personal recipees out there? anyone have any ideas? i saw weird sonar things at walmart to keep rats away do those work? or just a plastic bag in the wind? ANY TIPS SHARE WITH ANYONE! EVERYONE WANTS TO KNOW YOUR TIPS IM SURE!

2012 Grow like its ur last year! :leaf::leaf:

Here are some of my ideas! I am going to dig a 1 foot deep and 2 inches wide, trench around patch and put stakes and green chicken wire around the plot waste high. quote " if you can hide a 6 foot marijuana plant you can hide a chicken wire fence..." This will keep deer and rabits away! I am also going to hang little stockings with human hair in the dead trees around the area for deer. My patch is also surrounded by poison oak! I am also going to spray plants with neem oil water and non toxic soap for all those nasty bugs! any other people have ideas for bugs or non toxic pesticides I can spray around to have a nice safe harvest!

Do you have the chance to chat with other growers in your area? Are you sure you need an arsenal or are you just "being prepared"?

I ask because I'm in Washington, live on a mountain in the woods...had a cougar cross my pasture a couple months ago...lots of coyotes, rabbits, deer, bobcats, etc. I had absolutely no trouble with either varmits or bugs (garden has been organically balanced...good bugs apparently outnumber bad bugs...many years...as are wild forests). My only problem was my horse and the Life Flight helicopter pilots. Turns out, my horse is a stoner. Who knew? As for the pilots, they were grinning...those assholes scared me silly!

There's plenty of work in a properly managed grow without adding anything you don't have to do, especially when it involves digging! See what you can find out about your local area's pest problems. You might learn you have other things you should focus on instead. In my case, it was a lid to keep them dry at the end. You're north of me, so you should think about that! Good luck!
