Hi guys. A few days ago I found my leaves had started getting white spots on them. Looked over my 3 plants and I found like insects I’m guessing they are mites. I did some research and ended up buying a few products and ingredients to make homemade insecticide. I sprayed them once with the hose, let dry off a little then hit them with eco neem oil/eco natrasoap insecticide and washed it off. Checked them later %99 were gone. I just flipped my plants 4/2/19 I’m hoping they are to far into flowering to use them. Can anyone tell me what the insects are on my leaves? And if what I’m using is ok and will get rid of them.
Cheers.

Sorry but I'm not going to be of much help.......
When I got spider mites I wound up having to go overkill.
Like you, I was in flower and I didn't want to poison my crop, so I wound up not being aggressive enough even though I used insecticidal soap and bleached the tent after harvest, the bugs made it into the next grow. So I "soaped' the plants like the directions said, and then repeated until it was weeks from the last sign of infestation. After harvest I washed the tent, bleached and washed again.
The bugs were a big part of why I switched to DWC

Good luck

The eggs will hatch and thus more mites. You will need to stay on top of them. I can't say that what youre using will be effective. Also neem oil tastes horrible when it's on the buds. If I were in your shoes I would likely start over. It sucks to try and try to battle them only to have the harvest be diminished and contaminated with products used to keep the mites at a level the plants can finish. I have seen first hand how they can take over at the end when you can't really use much against them, buds covered in webs with mites crawling all over.

Its always best to use preventative treatments up until you start seeing actual buds. If you can keep the plants clean of bugs until then you have a much better chance of finishing a round without having to use any products on the buds.

Always be clean when you enter the grow, most commonly the grower brings them in on clothes. If you have been outside, at least change clothes before going near the grow. I personally shower and change anytime I have been where bugs are. Shoes, have a set of house shoes that are for the grow only. Pop them on when you visit your grow.

  1. yes they are spider mite. just spray the with water a few times a day- the like it dry. and f all that sprying stuff. just get you some predatory insects. i recommend Chrysoperla carnea and after a few weeks wegt you some predatory mites. works awesome. stop spraying water when using the predators
