Thanks Zeez. I'm putting up a light dep green house for 2021. This is really helping.

I'm trying to see if I can diy the light dep controller , arm/motor setup . Seems like the arms is conduit sleeved in top rail attached to the motor, with a pivot point at the bottom for each arm . I just haven't found any good diy guides on building that right .

Most places I've talked to are about $1700 to add light dep to a 24x36 gh. 3 - 5x30ft beds

24x36 is the size I'm shooting fkr ,

I'll make my own thread to not muddy yours . Happy Holidays

I used a bent piece of conduit for the motor trolleys to ride on. You can get the motors and trolleys (ordered separately) in China way cheeper.
Talk to Beata at tianhe_beata@skyplant.cn here's the website https://skyplant.en.alibaba.com Very nice people. Deal goes smooth.

I've actually been talking with her. Was thinking of doing whole light dep kit .

In your opinion would you take a chance on ordering one from them ?

Thanks!

It was like four weeks and I had the stuff. I just bought the roll up motors and trolleys from them. The rest was amazon and Home Depot.
Tracking was spot on. I actually got a couple extras and sold the others on eBay. Paid for the whole deal. 8) Beata was great and the customer service was tops. Deffinately recommended.

On mine, there isn't much more. I used chain link fence top rail for the rollers, clips and the covering. Light dep will be the same and go right over the covering. Only difference is that the black out will 'park' at the top of the hoop house.

For me the two big things are finishing early and starting flowering when I want to better manage the eventual size of the mature plants. I had some real jungles in there and couldn't move around. Bigger isn't always better.

This is a great thread @Zeez Thanks for laying it all out. This is exactly what I have in mind and I love the DIY side of it. Did you save much money doing it yourself?

The kit includes 2 sets of motors , for dep and clear plastic .and 2 fans , light traps , and cool wall. Also has metal door included, and insect netting . It's a smoking deal compared to what I get local , even with shipping .

I'm scared to do it though :)

I looked into buying a kit but the shipping was crazy. It was pretty easy to bend the hoops. My 81 year old father in law did half of them.

Yeah, I'm more worried about figuring out the controls than the actual build. That kind of stuff is a bit outta my wheelhouse. When you say ridge vent you mean the curved looking windows that open up?

The only concern I would have is crossing some price threshold where customs wants you to pay duty. I never got hit up. Or maybe something large causing shipping complications. I have two big 18" fans and really didn't need them after installing the ridge vent. Air comes in the sides and out the top. Convection does it all.

In reality it's a small order , will be under $5000. I'm looking at 2500-4500 depending on size.

All being shipped via sea , and I'd have to pickup in San Francisco which is doable for me.

But I'll probably go DIY or with a local option

Been looking at your Greenhouses for years Double JJ.

I'm few hours north of grass valley. There kits look nice , thanks .

Happy New Year to everyone, hope to see lots of new GH grows this upcoming year.

This is where I bought our greenhouses. They are in NorCal, Grass Valley. They are very well built and have the best prices around. I highly recommend Karhmens Gardens greenhouses. Best of luck...
