Building a 60,000 square foot outdoor legal grow in Washington State HELP!

Licensing is renewable every year, AND you can sell it! Three years of operation and exit on a level I'm trying to accomplish and if it's done right into the woods I go! State is saying you have to meet the residency requirements to apply which is in 9 days.

Considering a rectangle 100' x 300' I can place these holes in rows 3' apart but this only gives me 666 plants. I'll probably stagger them but is this enough room? I plan on growing almost exclusively this year G-13 strain and I expect a yield of 2lbs per plant.
Welcome fellow Spokane resident.
I would love see this operation once you have it up and going (growing:weed:)
Just to put in my 2 grams of wisdom... my personal feeling is that unless you have signed contracts with several area dispensaries to take 1000+# of a single strain off your hands, you may find yourself sitting on the fence between the legal and illegal sale of your product just to pay the bills and keep things going.
If it was me, I would start by contacting every dispensary in the area that I would dealing with (and I wouldn't consider transporting any product over State lines). Find out what strains they are wanting to market, what kind of volume they would like to see, and how much are they willing to pay. Keeping in mind that there will always be another grower out there and more and more as time goes on and there will be serious competition in pricing to get the dispensary's business. Anything you can get in the form of a written and signed contract is gold. Any verbal contracts are subject to be canceled at any time right up to the moment of delivery.

Good luck and keep us posted on your progress.:peace:

Good advice KnifeThrower thanks. The "dispensaries" are no longer a target as they will be "retailers" and they aren't even licensed yet so we don't know who they will be. I've started legalpotforum.com to try and connect everyone but I haven't had much time to get it really going. I plan to go after contract growing just like you advise but I will be requiring a % up front and a written contract and I've dedicated 30% of my canopy to contract grow. It's beautiful plan but the state messed some things up in their program I'm hoping the market will demand they change. The other target is extractors and a single strain works great there I'm thinking. Also, I project there won't be enough product to meet the demands for at least the first year as producers are just getting started and the kinks get worked out of the system. Everything I do will be above board. I think I have funding dialed in and that means I might be breaking ground in a couple weeks so I'll start pictures then. By the way, love the name and you should love this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i2hKHowngOA my new sword isn't in this but I made a great throwing sword that won't break! Always looking for volunteers setting this up!

What knifethrower said.

I would most certainly go to quite a few dispansaries introduce myself and ask how can i meet your cannabis needs and maybe even give them a few nugs of the strongest strain in my stash or something.

Im well excited for you pal, best of luck.

Great idea but the state is shutting down the dispensaries.

All environments looking perfect does this look like a good cycle? Don't waste my time responding to something you don't read please, you look bad and waste the time of everyone reading this thread. Also, I don't want your opinion on "You shouldn't use seeds" "If you use seeds" "1,000 plants is too many" There are other threads for that. In other words if you don't have a legitimate comment on this questions please find a thread you do. This thread is geared toward accomplishing a goal not thrashing it. I know there will be loss, I know not to shock them etc.

After all your comments I decided to mix it up a bit. Here are my strain picks. I plan on buying packs of 12 each through BC Bud Depot. As a refresher I'm growing in Spokane County. Any advice on the strain and BC Bud Depot is appreciated.

Purple Afghani
BC Blueberry
BC God Bud
BC Kush
Northern Lights

I've considered Afghani and California Girl from Emery Seeds.

I'm surprised you selected these strains but maybe my knowledge on them is limited. I would choose some slam dunks like grape god by next generation, but also everyone loves sour diesel, chem dawg, GDP, Girl Scout cookies, anything kush, and blue dream. Grow dank and everything will be fine.

Pots are expensive as are wooden raised beds. Not so bad if you want 10-50 but if you want 1,000 the price is a killer. I found the perfect solution! I will cut carpet into 18" strips about 9' long, turn them into a circle and weave a pin in the end. If I get some black carpet all the better as it will help heat the soil. Carpet will allow air into the soil at all levels and bleed well. At the end of the year I can remove the carpet and replenish the soil if I want to. Less work than digging holes, less soil waste than trenches, Love it!

These are all indoor strains for the most part right? Also, not good finishers in my area outdoors but I could be wrong that's why I'm here!

As many plants as your talking about I wouldn't use any containers. Go rent a bobcat with a backhoe, and dig some 2' trenches 10' apart and fill it with the best soil you can find. Buy 1000 clones in May of every variety I could get my hands on. Grow them under lights until they are 2' tall around mid June. Plug them in the trenches on 10' spacing. you'll soon know what strains work best for you. Good luck.....P.S. you need to come to the bbq.....

I spent 14 years working for the prison system I got security covered and so do the state regulations. I'm in Spokane County if your around I own washingtonsmancave.com if you want to imbibe I can oblige.
Prisons are meant to keep people in an area that dont have weapons...how does this apply to a group of people with guns and greed that are trying to get in? Im sure afew of ur helping hands will know someone that will help u with ur business demise.or even someone on here helping u now... potting pricing is an issue? Lol ur prolly gonna kill urself when ur expected yield is only 10% less than expected which is a qwaaaata mill. Im not bashing...jyst advocate

Trenches are a waste of soil and getting the soil out is hard. I plan to take all my soils and run them through a soil processor every spring. I can't get my hands on 1,000 clones in Washington state especially as every grower plans on it and the price will rocket come spring. Top that will 90+% are INDOOR strains I don't want them although I will pick a couple and acclimatize them for next year, maybe? Not sure I want to introduce any males. My plan calls for growing them under lights till mid may some will be 1' some 2' and some 3'. I plan on the BBQ!

Find a good clone provider and put your order in now, lock the price now, off season......and many "indoor" strains will grow fabulously outdoors, a lot depends on your micro-climate. And NO you don't want any males!......see you at the Q........

So you expect people with guns and greed to rob me? What? Good luck with that! Do you have any clue as to the security requirements to even get a license? Have you priced 1,000 30gal pots? Obviously not but I have. Did I say anything about 10% yield loss? Nope rather I expect to pull 10% of my plants and that does not equate to a 10% yield loss. I pull the 10% plants because they will not produce a yield or they go herm or whatever but it certainly isn't a 10% yield loss. Lets say I have 10 plants and I see one wasting my time so I pull it. I lose 10% of my plants but not 10% of my yield because it wasn't going to yield.

I've given that lots of thought but I can clone my own focused on the strains that will yield and finish well outdoors. I've got a lot of connections up here and averaging 5-10 bucks a clone doesn't make a lot of sense if I'm in it for profit. With at least 10,000 veg plants purchased to meet the demands price will be too high and I don't like to rely on others to produce. Too many failed people in this world. Also the "males" thing was geared toward acclimatizing to do it properly I need to breed. Is there something wrong with my growth model?
