Building cheap light reflector

i grow with cfl's and i think that this would be best for clones, i just think that a little bit bigger posterboard or something in substitue of it, with the ends closed would be better for a bigger grow and bigger yeild.

i might have to steel this concept but add my own touches to it.

[i know you said what kind of light you were useing but i am trying to find out if i have to use diff lights for veg and flowering if so how can i tell what i have to use

Oh and ive tested the lights... Left them on to see if the fur on the pipe cleaners get burnt on the light but they didnt for me... 26w daylights GE[/quote]

This gave me a pretty good idea for how to make my reflector. i've been trying to think of a good cheap material that i would feel comfortable with, and i'm not sure if duct tape covered poster board is exactly what i was thinking, but i like the idea of wrapping something with the reflective tape.

You can get silver card stock from film/photo industry suppliers. It is called "showcard". Here is a resource, reasonably priced, sold by the yard.

Did basically the same thing except I use an old satellite dish and it gives me an amazing foot print of about 6 feet round from 3 feet above. This is from 30" satellite dishes.

Reflectix is stiff enough for me to use stand alone, and being metal it reflects the UV I need.


It holds shape well and the dimples help with hot spots.

I originally used two turkey pans. I cut both of the the long way all the way over to the last flat area of the pan.
Then slid the 2 pans together and attached via metal ducting tape. Made a great hood in a pinch for my old 175w mh
