Building High Pressure Aero System Help Needed

Hello All,
Thanks in advance for the help. I am building a mid-high pressure aerosystem using 5inx5in square PVC fence posts. I am hoping to build a system that makes mist in the 5-50 micron zone. I am looking at a 20-200psi high pressure Aquatec pump:
http://www.aquatec.com/delivery.htm

with an 2 gallon accumulator tank:
http://www.amazon.com/Little-Giant-T2-2-Gallon-Equivalent/dp/B0028BWNR2

and the needed John Guest fittings and lines.

I have 8 plant sites per 8ft fence post and 9 fence posts total so I was thinking I could maintain pretty steady pressure with a 3sec on 1min off cycle. There will be aprox. 1 mister for every 3 plant sites so I'm looking at 72/3= 24 misters.
And this is where I need some help, what sprayers would you recommend? Any better Ideas?

thanks!

Hey guy see no one replied to your thread that's a shame as aero is the future of sustainable development and will feed the world regardless of all these global warming and famine claims that are completely artificially generated by the utter lack of mass market support for aero outside of the pharmaceutical and commercial industries.

There are a couple of new threads on the topic floating around, I recommend ganjadigger to find them as that's how I found your post.

As for nozzles, you know what I can say is a lot of people say they're getting a finer spray with less drip from the non-biocontrols. I do know that they use nylon to avoid corrosion, and that the reason they don't amp the pressure past 100 PSI is related to precipitation of mineral elements, I'm guessing magnesium and calcium is the major culprit, as that's what is the issue in LP with lime scale. I've seen people note other places that citric acid, or citrate as it's sold in a solid form can be purchased in bulk, it's the main ingredient in commercial products like FloraKleen from General Hydroponics.

First potential issue I see is 3 nozzles per 8'/8 plants isn't going to give you very even coverage. You'll have to overcompensate by doing a longer mist duration, oversaturating zones close to the nozzle, while undersaturating those far away. 8 per section would give even coverage to every root zone, and the ability to get closer to a 1 sec mist time, which will give better results. That gets me to the next point. 5 x 5 is gonna fill up with roots pretty damn quick. Once those posts are full of roots, the benefits of HPA will be lost, and you'll be left with something more to the tune of NFT. Brashtheonion did VERY well with his setup (vid on youtube). He was using 12'" PVC, lower pressure, & longer mist times. In a nutshell, I have my doubts wether or not using HPA in a small rootzone will produce any better results that NFT. Having said that, I'm sure that if you've already purchased the posts, you aren't turning back. That's cool.

Nozzles. These are pretty popular... http://www.cloudtops.com/misting_systems_misting_nozzles/mistingnozzles.php

These are the bio's that foresaken mentioned... http://www.biocontrols.com/aero6j.htm

I was planning to use the bio's myself, but found that they didn't perform to my expectations. I picked these up at HD for cheap, and plan to give them a go, as they performed excellent in testing. http://www.dripirrigation.com/drip_irrigation_categories/111/drip_irrigation_parts/602

I didn't hear you make mention of timer/solenoids, so I'll post what I believe to be on of the best options...

Timer. http://www.iseincstore.com/422_Timer.aspx

Solenoids. http://stcvalve.com/Process%20Valve.htm?gclid=CKzLiNXS750CFQRM5QodK0OaMQ

The solenoids I chose are the 9th one down on the page, but there are many options when it comes to solenoids. I'd just make sure they are stainless or there are even some made of plastic out there.

Good luck with your project. Keep us informed on your progress.

Mike if you ever see this, I went to local Lowes, HD, they don't even have those here, they have 1/2 gal drippers, and sprayers, but as for misters... no, nowhere, not one... of any size. But this is California, and our stores do seem to have an active policy of not supporting any of these efforts, for example, that popular container with the yellow top, they no longer sell period.... guess too many people were making cloners. Pretty sure they read these forums.
