Hey,

So after a great talk on the chat with a couple of guys I wanted to get some advice about my grow room from you guys..

I was planning on using my attic to grow but now I have second thoughts
my options are pretty limited but here are a few pictures of my attic see if you guys can give me ideas..

as you can see I have a tiny fan for air circulation and a tiny window that is blocked by the wood board at the back.
it's fairly low place - about 60 inches
I didn't get lighting yet so any suggestions would be highly appreciated..
actually other then seeds i didn't get anything yet

Thanks for the help everybody :)

Looks like a space with potential. Can you get fresh water into the room? How about fresh cool air?

I figured fresh water I will do myself.. fresh air I could maybe get from the window somehow and cover it some other way..

The most common problem I hear about growing in attics are temps, here in Sac in the summer temps can easily exceed 100*F so needless to say it gets blazing up there, I have an attic that in some areas you can actually walk around its so high, would be perfect for growing but in summer Ive clocked the temps at 130*F up there so AC and ventilation would be essential. If its cool were you are then the only downside I can think of would be how difficult it is to get in there and water availability, would kinda suck having to lug water up there every few days, lol. If these problems aren't issues for you then I would say go for it, unless you have a better option of course.

First thing I thought of. The other thing ..are you going to grow in the open or enclose the plants? No offense but in pic 2 it looks like rodent turds. Wouldn't want anything chewing on any of the gear you end up with...

Keen observation and your absolutely right, if there are signs of vermin I would highly recommend taking care of that before wiring anything, like WhiteDynomite said rats, mice and even squirrels can chew off the wire insulation and cause shorts, equipment failure and even fires.

Just cut an extra hole in the side of the house for ventilation (out) and cut a hole in the floor, preferably into a closet space (in). If you can plumb water in that would be great.

you 2 are absolutely right I will make sure that no rats or mice can get there..

Easy to plumb a single 1/2" cold water line up there. PVC would do fine. Heck even a lousy ice maker size line would beat climbing with water. A coil of 1/4" copper with compression fittings and a screw tap in your outside hose line. You clamp the 2 halves together and screw the pointed tap in until it pierces it. You might have to put a low pressure boost pump if your water pressure is too low to clear that head space with the 1/2" line but less chance of needing with a 1/4".
