burning korans on 9/11

if muslims dont attack mosques or other places of muslim worship, then why did they attack the WTC? Or did they?.....

All religious crusades/jihads built places of worship on the remains of what they conquered. Organized religion is social control, but, some of the underlying morals and practices arent all bad.

But i do digress, this country was built on religious freedom. just because some landing gear fell on a site doesnt mean it was ground zero. if you wanna go there, all of new york was ground zero. When the wind shifted the week after, you could smell burnt bodies and destruction clear across the bridge in jersey. I joined the military and quit my job. we were all effected one way or another, but the biggest fuck you to the ones responseable would be to continuing on what we were doing. We should build the towers back exactly how they were, maybe a little bit bigger, just to say "yea you blew em up and killed thousands of people, but, we built it back. Icouldnt really get the words together right, but its the same idea behind how henry ford went about it during wwII. Ford built a mass production facility that could put out a squadron of bombers every 23 hours. He staffed the plant with mostly female workers (females werent predominant in the work place at that time) who had no real experience in doing the work, but he taught them. His logic behind that was that he could build bombers faster then nazis could shoot em down, and he did.

jones is a wanker, of the highest grade, he's like that lieing twat a few years ago in his prayer tower who said God wanted us to give him a million dollars and if not he would be smitten or some shit, well he didnt get his money and he didnt die, then there was that other swindelling bastard, who got caught with his pants down, and Jim and Tammy, FFS when will people stop falling for these scheisters and false prophets, Jesus warned us about them: "ye shall know them by their fruits", all this shit about burning books is straight out of the mouth of the beast, it is what evil men do, people who hide from the TRUTH. i know Jesus said we should love our enemies, but i doubt if he would piss on the likes of pastor (how dare he use that term), Jones if he were on fire and burning to death. He is a sad head fucked arsehole, who is bitter and twisted with hate., a shit stirring cunt who dosn't care one bit if his actions result in young soldiers being killed or maimed, i think he should be stoned to death (make him smoke a thousand bongs) in the uk he would be arrested and appear in court for even suggesting such a thing as burning holy texts of any kind. For some reason we do not seam to respond to extremists like jones, i remember when a wanker from the KKK came over, he was just laughed at and went home early:nobhead. Beware of zealots, they often have some hidden agenda
that theyre trying to hide.
If you are referencing Oral Roberts, he is dead.

Deader than fried chicken.

^good point...

What about buildings that were synagogues before the holocaust and are now being used as churches? Was it insensitive of christians to set up their places of worship in communities where christians had murdered countless jews? A lot of those christians were german soldiers whose belt buckle read 'god is with us'...

This is just another political stunt by the right to whip up anti-muslim sentiments on the fringe. Remember all those people who think obama is a secret muslim antichrist who wants to destroy america....they vote.

plus rep 4 tha johnny cash pic, only because its my fave, got a big poster of it on me wall.

they did take the towers.

bin laden is still a free man.

we are still fighting a war.

just give them the damn trophy.

well, 9/11 is over.
if you burned a koran today, i support your right to do so... and you are a natural idiot or your mama did a bad job.
this is america where we're allowed to be stupid and hateful and raise our kids wrong.
it's an option many choose, in fact.

An excerpt from Imagining Islam: Wishful thinking will not bring success or security, by Andrew McCarthy

If only the fantasy were true: If only there actually were a dominant, pro-American, echt moderate Islam, an ideology so dedicated to human rights, so sternly set against savagery, that acts of terrorism were, by definition, “un-Islamic activity.” Imagine an Islam that, far from a liability, proved an asset (indeed, an indispensable asset) in combating the threat against us. Imagine that we could accurately call the threat mere “extremism” — no “Islamic” (or even “Islamist”) modifier being necessary because the “extremists” truly were a tiny, aberrant band, fraudulently “hijacking” a great religion.

If the fantasy were true, who among us would not be proud to mark the annual observance of September 11 by breaking ground on a $100 million Islamic center cum mosque at the site of the most horrific attack in American history? In the nine years since the atrocities that claimed the lives of nearly 3,000 Americans at the Twin Towers, the Pentagon, and a field in Shanksville, Pa., such an Islam — if it really existed — would have spearheaded the defeat of America’s enemies.

Such an Islam, over nine long years, would have risen up and made itself heard. It would have identified by name and condemned with moral outrage the imposters purporting to act in its name. It would have honored America’s sacrifice of blood and treasure in the liberation of oppressed Muslim peoples. It would have said “thank you” to our troops. It would have joined America, without ambiguity or hesitation, in crushing terror networks and dismantling the regimes that abet them. It would not have needed trillion-dollar American investments to forge democracies; it would naturally have adopted democracy on its own.

What excruciating truths have we yet failed to grasp on this ninth anniversary of 9/11? The first is that such an Islam does not exist. The second is that, despite this fact, American foreign and domestic policy continues to proceed as though it does exist — and as though it were the only real Islam. That is, nine years after Islamists made their commitment to our destruction as unmistakable as possible, nine years after the non-occurrence of all the wonderful things that would certainly have happened if the Islam of our dreams were the Islam of our reality, our national-security strategy is still steeped in fiction.

^^And if there were any sane conservatives out there, they would make themselves heard as well. Seems like the homophobe bible-thumpers, big business whores and morality legislators are all we hear about on msnbc. If there really were conservatives who believed in responsible government and individual freedoms, we would have heard about it. Right? :bigjoint:

Also, quoting the national review is usually a recipe for fail. I doubt Buckley would approve of what's going there these days...

I guess you haven't heard of this little network of political dissidents called the Teabaggers.

Another recipe for fail is following the partisan script of automatically dismissing, out of hand, anything you disagree with based on the source alone.

I thought it was cute when Obowma made it clear that we are not at war with Islam. He, the virtuoso of political doublespeak.

Could it be he was saying, "We are at war with Islam, but I don't want us to be."
