Bush Doctor Coco Loco in a 5 x 5

Hello and welcome.

A few months ago due to lack of choice at the local hydro shop, I picked up a bag of coco loco.
They were out of pro mix bx/hp, don't feel like going back to coco coir, so I gave it a try and now I like it.

It already has some organic supplements but I amended it with more EWC, some azomite, more garden lime,
some One Shot by Nectar for the Gods, some mykos at transplant. Some Recharge a couple times.

I bought a cheap water filter for the chloramine in my tap water. I've never been an organic grower, probably not even now, lol.
But I'm using water only except epsom salt and k sulfate occasionally not every watering.

I grew in coco for almost 10 years and loved it. The only reason I quit is disposing of the used material. I reused coco 3 times before disposing of it, adding a little new coco each time. I put the old stuff in a small unused garden area for years. That dang hydrophobic shit would just sit there like a 3 foot deep bog of coco. Barely breaking down.
I began to be afraid that it would catch fire one day and smolder for a long time.

No starter pics right now. I do perpetual grow only 3 or 4 at a time.

Waiting for the last Sundae Dough to finish as it's going several weeks longer than it's 2 sisters already harvested.
Have various Kush going in there now. 2 Skywalker, A lemon Larry, and Godfather kush...I think, lol.

Funny I was reading somewhere someone was saying coco with nutrients doesn't work. Coco Loco I have used a sample bag and was very impressed with it. It's why I started building my 8 tray sub irrigation actually.. So thanks Bush Doctor

They cheat with Bat Guano

That hash looks dank..

I like it too, it's definitely soil, just with coco as filler I guess. I was using pro mix bx for a while so I wasn't sure how to treat this, but I been treating it just like soil, no cares for ph of the water, and it seems to work well.

The hash is good, ran through 220 work bag, the first catch bag is 150, next is 60, the rest I let go.
Burns your nose with a nice pepper spice smell.

I guess it is all coco. No filler. It is Coco fiber, aeration and amend. I treated it like soil also, with the exception of PH. I did PH my feeds. Watering it like coco, you leach all the nutrients out of the mix. It was interesting to me that there wasn't much salt buildup. Recently someone I sincerely trust has told me a coke bottle of ocean water in the soil as an addition.. So I am trying it now as a test.

I love some hash. I have some trim I'll probably make some dry sift quickly now you have my taste buds going :blsmoke:

50 to 60% coco coir, aged forest products, perlite and fertilizer...derived from earthworm castings, bat guano, kelp meal, oyster shell, and dolomite lime. And mycorrhizae.

It's not all coco and is more like organic soil that has coco as part of the mix, albeit a large part, but it changes the properties from what all coco would be. The CEC is not the same.
I also amend it like an organic mix. And No drain to waste.

I grew in straight coco for a good while in the past. Using Blumats I didn't drain to waste with those either.

Also I'm using tap water only (filtered for chloramine and chlorine), except occasional mg sulfate and k sulfate.

As a side note, at first I was using distilled water because I had a shitload extra for kidney failure in some dogs to drink. Dumb move but I had it to spare. Everything else is either in the (amended) soil or it's a one time top dress of alfalfa meal as well as one time insect frass top dress. No nute salts. And the tap water with a single filter is working great. Probably don't even need the filter but our city does have chloramines in the water.

It's just those crazy jazz players smokin that reefer again lol.
Me and my buddy last night, open garage, distanced, both fully vaccinated. You gotta do something when nobody wants to play.
He does this weird drum loop, plays keys/synth and drums too. It's static because it's not a song, it's a jam live. Whatever is whatever, I just play guitar.

Thinking about going back to pro mix, I'm better with it than this coco loco mix.

Starting a few Mephistos. 1 Double Grape and a couple 3 bears og, both my favorites in auto. I'll keep them in the veg area as long as I can.starts.jpg

Some new bubble hash fresh made. Ditched the 220 bag which was new ( and sucks) and went back to my old bags ( had for years); 150 work bag, 120 for first catch bag and 60 for second catch bag, the rest flows through to waste. This gives me full melt every time. Wish I never tried the new all screen bags.

Been gone a while.
Left the autos in the veg closet under a 315 cmh because the flower tent was still being used. Not ideal for flower because the ventilation is not the same as a tent. Taken with lights on.
