I haven't, but I will be this year. I had only had bud worms once in all my years of growing, and never did any prevention. The BST2's make big heavy buds with lots of smell. The moths just loved them. I started using Neem when I saw the first worm, but it was too late to do it more than a couple of times. I know now I will have to work on my IPM.

Good luck to you guys. Hopefully his reputation will help with price at harvest time. It is crazy how the price has fell out of the market.

Are you and your wife going to be living on site? That is like a thru hike, what with having to bring in all your water and everything else.

The BIL ask me to pop some of the B&S X CP1 for him. He is going to teach his youngest son the ropes this season. The 29th and 30th are good above ground days. Most likely I will put 30 odd seeds in soil then.

So far the plan is i am going to be living there spring, summer and fall this year and maybe next. She will probably be up there off and on as our first Grandchild is 1 month old yesterday and I could not blow her out of town with TNT. Its a 7 hour drive to get there from our place on the coast and an additional 3 hours to get to the Oregon border we have family at the border, California side. As far as i know wholesale numbers have not had a huge hit here in California, recent legalization does not 100% start until January 2018 but you can possess an ounce legally now, that was effective January 1 2017. The dispensaries are holding back prices, nothing new there. In Colorado the good shit went for $300+ oz.last September and still holding. They want to control strengths now....like whiskey versus beer so who knows what can happen. Once the county boards of supervisors establish Tier Permit cost parameters...and a few bureaucracies get in place, we will see what happens with prices at the consumer level. Here in this county you will be able to have a Commercial 10,000sqft indoor grow max. Thats not including a nursery . For home growers ( not living in our county seat but living in unincorporated smaller towns) only allows for six plants at the Location not per person and must be grown indoors. I do not know if Medical Card holders who cohabitate get to grow 6 in buds each with 6 in veg state for backup meaning two card holders could have 24 plants growing.That may change and if it does that's truly messed up. The 4 of us hold cards.
We retired together, same day 5 years ago this month, the 5th to be exact. I had a small one man business and She was County Civil Service management level. Her job was our salvation too. My business was our tax salvation, got to write off a lot of costs. Hers was the Best retirement plan ever, we are blessed so to speak. I do not think me and JJ have much to worry about other than water and green houses, that is all doable. If it tanks it tanks but it is such a political football one never knows. The Bureau of Marijuana Control will be very interesting, more or less "Revenuers"

So you will be living like you were on a thru hike, you will just be doing it in the same place every night. Congrats on the grandbaby. I remember now that you had posted when he was born. I could see it being hard to get her away.

That is good to hear that prices are hanging in there. I have heard of some crazy prices. Like <1K per.

My wife was in county government too. Now has a very good retirement. I tell folks my retirement plan is to keep her alive as long as possible. When she was working, she made about three times what I do. Now that she is retired, she only makes about twice. We were lucky in that we are both savers. No working at crossed purposes. We will be fine. Finer the longer she stays around.

In it's hayday, the farm was a good write-off. But that was back in the day when Daddy was making good money. I've never made enough to worry too much about taxes. But it will be nice not paying quite as much as we have been. The other day when we filed, I figured we paid around 13% overall. Not too bad, but maybe we will slip down into the next lower bracket now.

I can't wait until Florida works out it's Medical kinks. Carrying water is too much like work for me to want to do much of it.

Carrying anything is like work passed a certain age LOL and water weighs what like a lot of pounds per gallon but we must think in terms of not so much sweat, dollars and cents but rather in terms of who is helping who maintaining a positive karmatic influence throughout the universe...doing a positive thing or sumptin..i dunno. I say let your soul shine...and never stop.

So good! Blue Grass...and that's a great moniker for a trailhead Old and in the Way...Maybe one day you could walk the Muir...books written about it like the AT you are no doubt aware. I jave hiked pkrtions of it in NorCal and its a marvel. Goes all the way to Monterrey Mex. From Canadian border i think. A boy was grub staked by his Dad for a high school graduation gift to write a story about his hike of the John Muir Trail.

Sounds great, No buzzes, low action hard to do both and be built in R.O.C. If I strung heavier gage strings it would buzz on bass strings to be sure yet a great trail/ cowboy songs round the campfire guitar. This guitar has been played a lot and that shows up in how it sounds, tinny or mellow, it's how the cells of the wood react to constant vibration (use) is just one school of thought, more vibes the better for cell walls...and the finish is not heavily lacquered. I am blessed to have it.

I think the JMT is a little over 200 miles, mostly shared with the Pacific Crest Trail. The PCT goes from Mexico to Canada. About 2650 miles.

Great find on the guitar. Will make the evenings at Wildwood more enjoyable for sure.

I made a new shelter this week. Got a little bit of daylight work on Tuesday when I cut the tree for the ridgepole. Everything else was done at night, Still not sure if this is the final location, so I haven't broke out the "good" old tarps for the sides yet.
