Bushy Plants Vs Tall Plants?

Im new to growing and the last time my plants got way to tall and my neighbors where starting to notice so i had to kill em it was only 3 but =[
so my question is how would i make my plants more bushy instead of growing so tall?
any help is nice =)

Tie the tops down.... top early and train the tops along a trellis. Plant indicas instead of sativas, but beware, some indicas do get big. Hell, mix em in with some tomato plants and keep them about the same height.

Thanks man i tried this last summer and failed and now im on probation for possession and i am extremely bored so why not grow right? haha

top as soon as there is a node to pinch. keep topping. start tying when branches reach desired height. use short strains that finish early outdoors.

topping is the eaiest, you can pinch the growth tips off multiple times and make a shorter bushier plant. If you're starting them indoors first use 6500 K light, that will stimulate earllier branching

Ive actually started them outside and they are going good so far only like 5 inches tall though
