Busted CFL. I.E. Mercury concerns.

So I cut down my plant and tossed the soil. I am going to toss the box I made because it is made of wood to be safe. I also ripped down the mylar and opened up the carbon filter and tossed it away. I am going to keep the zen carbon filter skeleton and wash it. my question, should I keep the fan, wires, plastic thermo ect?

lol. there isn't enough mercury in a cfl to do anything to anyone. you wasted your money by trashing everything. there is even mercury in flu shots. you're over reacting.

Are u dumb lol i broke a bulb and just cleaned it up without moving it all around to much such a small amount in those bulbs...u shoulda looked up what to do before u.chopped ur shit bro

Perhaps I was too overcautious. I google'd what to do in this scenario and it was kind of frightening. it said to air out the house and shut down the heat etc. I think I made the right call in chopping down the plant because she was exposed to toxic material. It was my first and I really miss her. But, maybe I should have tried to recover some of the materials. I am going to wash the plastics and metal pieces of my micro grow. and the wood in my opinion is a toss up. appreciate the replies.

You know what dude better safe than sorry for sure. For the most part you did the right thing, just wash your equipment, wipe the wood down with some vinegar or water if you want, and it should be fine. I don't know if you needed to toss the plant BUT if part of the bulbs insides or glass got on the bud it could make you pretty sick when you smoke it. Best of luck dude :bigjoint: and sorry to hear that happened
