Leds are great as long as you arnt listning the what the manufacturer sais. Mars will tell you 130w led replaces a 400w hid. It dosnt. 300W blurple lef to replace 400w hid. 225-250w cob replaces 400w hid.
Wondering why no one mentioned cmh. Much cheaper than cobs wich cost an arm and a leg. Still if you have the chedder go cob. 315w cmh replaces 600w hid in a 3x3 tent. They are perfect for your size tent. My shop has a 315 cmh in a cool tube (dosnt need a cool tube but whatever lol) for 299.99 including the lamp

I'd recommend a Meizhi LED if your going the LED route and can't afford COBs. I have a 600w version and it's doing great so far. I've read that LEDs like this might lack in flower however, so I've got an additional viparspecta UFO to add in when time comes.
Hps will probably still be better than the lower end led models, if you can figure out how to handle the heat that is.

Nah dont get those shit mars hydro lights.. i would get the meizhi or viparspectra lights if it was me. Better yet just grab two quantum boards.
Looks like a worthy DIY contender is welight

I can recommend Amare Technologies and Fluence for high quality finished panels with long warrantys
