Buying new Equipment for my New flower room

building a new flowering room.
going to put 3 600watt HPS bulbs in it. i was looking on amazon and i found

1- 600watt HPS Dimmable Ballast
1- 600watt HPS Bulb
1- 19" Wing Reflector
& Hangers

for $140.00
the brand is iPower..

how is iPower? my last equipment i bought i got from htgsupply but its a lot more expensive.

i also seen a brand Apollo that is fairly cheap..

what do u all suggest??

For electronic ballast I'd go with Lumatek. Yeah it costs a little more but...thats just me I guess.

Go with a NEXTGEN . Lightweight . reliable , and cheap to run .

when your dealing with something that uses that much electricty and is a possible fire hazard go with a known product with a good warranty.

As long as it's approved by CSA or something similar i wouldn't worry to much, especially if it has a warranty.. Thats an awesome price..

HTG is like the Sears of growers' stuff. good quality and high prices. Don't know about the off brands.

I will take a second and explain to the new guys why your lighting choices are so smart.


First, getting 3 600W lights instead of 2 1000W set-ups is nothing but smart. You will have a lot more flexibility about where to put your plants under the lights
because you are covering a larger area. You will also be able to grow more plants with 3 lights and those you grow will have more and better bud sites. Not only
are you saving 200 watts an hour, you are covering more area more efficiently. Also means 600W is cooler than 1000W bulbs so you can grow closer to the light.

bigsteve deffly agree with u on the 3 600w. but idk if i can trust the iPower & Apollo Brands they are on amazon. but so much cheaper then HTG
