I did it. The weeks and months wore one. I tried it all. From neem oil to neem oil but in prettier bottles. From some omri kind of fat to drying the soil and sand. From 20 fly strips to my fingers. Nothing worked!
Finally I got serious. I read about gnatrol. I saw the price. I read about something else. I read about BTI. The bacteria that BTI stands for. A man made bacteria that kills gnat larvae. I love bacteria. Dont forget the bacteria, I always say.
So I bought the 10 dollar and I assume organic mosquito dunks. A relatively cheesy looking package item, of the same variety as Superthrive. Is that a tattoo waiting to happen or what?
Anyway, they are in the outside area of lowes. Hanging by the cash register or pots on a hook by themselves. BY THEM!!!
This is the deal. They are basically just BTI! Cheap at 10 dollars or less. Take a dunk, these cookie looking pucks. Break it up and put it in ro water overnight. Let it disolve. Help it shake it.
I never noticed it fully disolve all the chunks. I was desperate. This grow is a pain.
I also took chunks and out it crumpled up all ove rmy soil and pushed in like a topdress.
I took this water, now a soil drench and watered down my medium of soil.
I then took another product. This was also a first. Pyrethrins. 7 dollar bottle from rite aid. I sprayed the top of the soil.
So I checked the soil the next day. Little fuckers were still there. I sprayed them down with the pyrethrins. I checked again the Next day. Same deal.
Same deal the day after. I sprayed again every time. UNTIL. . . . . . .
I just checked. NOTHING! Not a peep. In my flower tent and my veg tent there is not even a hint of any gnats at all.
This took me forever to figure out. Trust me noobs fungus gnats are a huge problem. They can get into your roots and eat the shit out of them. I got these buggers from a diy worm farm left outside that I thru a bannana peel in. Never again.
Dont give up on organics. I fixed all that.
Also BTI all my shit, I do now. Gents This be the stuff go gods. BTI. If you got any water laying around drop a dunk in it. Drench your shit. Topdress. Use at your discretion. This shit is safe for horses to drink. I think I read that right.
