There is no way you can regulate the flow down to the level you need without the regulator. Just a sad part of the upgrade, but well worth it.

all you need is a good regulator(140.00) and a good digital timer(20.00) there is a sticky in the indoor section that helps you figure out how long to run your co2. i think its called the co2 calculator.norcals setup is better but a little pricey for beginers, after a couple harvests you can add a good control and monitor.the monitor should be hung in the middle of the canopy because co2 is heavier than air.this is why you drop the co2 in the room from up above your plants.i have a couple fans on the floor that push it back up into the canopy.gl.

Yeah man You definately need a Regulator bruh. I bought mine off of Craigslist for $80.....The entire Co2 setup is alot of $$$$$$....But what you could do is, if there is NO WAY you can get a regulator and timer(Im sure you have a timer somewhere) You could run the hose to the back of an oscillating fan and manually turn it on, the fan would blow the gas over the canopy of the plants....This is a VERY INNEFFICIANT way of using Co2.....And Co2 isn't very cheap either...I pay $28 a fill...and thats because im a member of thier little welders society(I've never welded a day in my life LOL) So you would be wasting money going that route. I usually make a couple hundred clones and then trade them out for what equipment I need. Helps overhead :) In my PERSONAL opinion. Without the reg...theres no gas bruh. Co2 WILL kill you if used irresponsibly. Get a reg and multiply your rooms square footage by .0015...that tells you what to set your flow meter to. For example a 4x4 room would be : 4x4 = 16 (16*.0015) = .024....Im no math guy but all in all 16 x.015 = .024....so you'd set your flow meter to around 2.5 - 3. I set mine 1 point over to account for any possible leaks. If your grow is inside your home AT ALL...Dont use it without a reg. When I first used it I went your route and found myself taking ALOT of deep breaths...I soon figured out it was Co2 leaking into my room from my grow closet.....Wound up sealing the room better and investing into a reg, DIGITAL TIMER (WAAAAY BETTER $12) And Co2 Test kits ($15 kit / $48 10 extra test pens)...Youll be able to really SEE the difference it makes with the right shit...without it.... Impovements in yield are minimal at most.

Things to expect and prepare for:

Higher humidity...Mine rose by 25%

Higher temps....cant run exhaust with the gas on.

Possible burning....TOO MUCH CAN HURT OR KILL....Co2 has almost killed a plant of mine before for keeping it on to long while the temps shot to 100*f

$$$....Be prepared to keep it full. Nothings worst than needing Co2 and not having time to go get a fill...or no money for it.

Attention...When I get home with a big ass Co2 tank on my shoulder every few weeks....neighbors may wonder....What the fuck thier neighbors doing in there..I bring anything hydro in the wee hours of the morning. People may stay up late...but they sure as hell hate waking up early on weekends. Thats when I move.

Sorry it took so much space...but just wanted to let ya know the deal on Co2....I LOVE IT!! And will probably use it forever.
Peace,
Happy Growing

Edit: If you go the hose to fan route...you have to stand there for about 2 minutes with the Co2 open 25% of the way and turn it off before you walk away from it...Otherwise you could forget, smoke a bowl, fall asleep, and die....yes it's THAT serious.
Peace

Fuck a bucket or some gay co2 tube crap. Get a co2 controller with regulator. Sentinel makes very nice ones.

Do it right and get a PPM controller. If you don't have the money now then save for it. There are a tremendous amount of variables to account for in terms of co2 concentrations and you can never get it correct with a simple timer. People that say you can with a simple room volume calculator are fooling themselves and have never witnessed a PPM controller in action.

Your just pissing money away. Remind yourself that when your carrying that full co2 tank on your shoulders.

yea i feel you guys im going to get the good regulator just left my room got 2 1000w 30 plants 1 month into bud cycle lookin great looking like over a oz per plant allready master kush and snow white just had to tell someone im geeked

If you're taking to me...I dont have an expensive ppm monitor...but I do use the syringe test pens...they work well enough for me. As far as timers vs ppm monitors go...thats a no brainer..of course get one if you can...What so many quick worded people fail to realize is that increasing Co2 in a room with limited air intake or lacking in fresh air...or even a mild temp problem, will benefit from the use of Co2. Maybe I dont see it's full ability...but having a few flower rooms with no Co2 and only one that does...I TOTALY see major results...with my $3 timer, ppm pens, and that big ass Co2 tank on my shoulder...the only problem with most people and Co2...is the myth that it must be dead on or no results....Increasing Co2 to levels above a lacking ambient level is always going to be beneficial..hands down....

I heard this same lie from someone when I first bought my tank....the results spoke for itself...And the best way to know the truth is to just DO IT... People say so many dicouraging things....basically "no money, no kind" well thats not true. I was told I couldnt pull two pounds from my first grow...I hit a little over...And have always pulled 2 per light. The best way to learn this answer is experience. Listening to us your going to get a miture of fact and fiction. I'm suprised you, LegallyFlying, would comment like that...knowing that you have some experience. I've actually read alot of your posts and learn SO much from them. Do you TRULY think that without perfect Co2 conditions, or the lack of a ppm controller is wasting money on Co2 if you've done the math and set your timer?....If so, I respectfully disagree. However, I do agree that these items are nessesary for the most optimal conditions utilizing Co2...It is not a COMPLETE nessecity...debating this is like debating whether temps should be at 86-95* or 70-78*...I like it a little on the warm side...but my friends like it on the cool side....we BOTH get great results.

Peace and happy Growinbg

Thank you! It's like the spoiled kid who said he wouldn't ware shoes if his mom didn't get him Jordans. Co2 will absolutely give you huge results with just a regulator. Get the ppm controller down the road some time.

ok guys this has no intention of offending anyone cuz i know you all like keeping your ladies in the most perfect condition.i would still recommend regulator like everyone has suggested, but at the same time, with decent ventilation you get an amount of natural co2 in the air. i am a beer guy as well and brew myself and i havefound that natural fermentation works fantastically, is easy to ballpark, one suply of sugar should last 2 weeks, and not to mention the cost. let say if you are growing 6-10 plants in an enclosed area, super saturate 1/2 lb of sugar in hot water, and add a packet of yeast. throw all in a empty and clean gallon sized milk jug. puncture a hole in top and you can lead co2 tubing out of this. you can of course test your ppm and adjust the amount of sugar as your yeast will stay alive. this is cheap and effective, and its easy to not overdo the co2 so even if not at optimal level, with natural co2 through good ventilation and added co2 through fermentation it works golden

It also stinks to high hell.

Yeast works....just hardly any noticable difference, unless you fill a trash can :) They sell yeast Co2 at my local Hydro shop....they say it lasts 6 months....I dont know how effective thiers is but it costs $35, and if you cant afford to spend $30 a month and get tanks, and all that other stuff....It will be an asset to any garden. It starts off brown and over time it turns white...No smell either....That I noticed anyway

i've never had any substantial odor issue at all. as for the yeast even your grocery store yeast packets ( $1) it will not expire. the yeast will remain alive in your solution so as it converts the sugars you can just add more sugar to it. you dont need a large setup for it either. i can get 1400 ppm co2 levels within 24 hours out of a 2 liter bottle or gallon milk jug. you just need to make sure you get enough pressure coming out so it will fill the room eficiently. like i said before just food for thought, but is inexpensive and simple.

There called ExHales and I just got a few more last week. It's just mycelium that produces C02. They seem to be working, I'm liking my results, but I have no way of testing how much C02 it actually produces. But how I see it, any co2 is better than none.
