C99 - 4x4 Gorilla Grow Tent Grow!

how's everybody doing?! in this thread i will be documenting my 2nd ever grow. i didn't get to finish my last attempt so hopefully things go better this time around. i've got 3 female C99 seeds started off in rapid rooters right now, waiting for one more to pop through the surface.

equipment is as follows:
-4x4 gorilla grow tent
-6" 440cfm inline fan for exhaust.
-dust shroom hooked onto 2x 240cfm booster fans for active intake.
-9k btu portable a/c exhausting into attic.
-8 bulb t5 light with mixed spectrum for veg.
-2x 400watt hps fixtures for flower.

i'll be posting pictures as things progress and am open to all advice/suggestions you may have for me. happy to be growing again!!

I'll be watching, I've been interested in the Female Seeds C99 for awhile. Are you gonna just do those 3 in that space, or run cuttings? Also, is the A/C unit in the tent, or outside and ducted in? I rigged one up to a tent I had going in my attic one time, I killed it pretty quick because the thermostat never switched it off, cause all the cold air was ducted into the tent. Just curious as to how you'll do it. Good luck and happy growing!

i've actually got 4 popped through the surface now so that's what i'll stick with for this grow. i think i'm going to scrog them, short veg then flip to flower. supposedly this is an 8 week strain. the a/c is inside the tent because i couldn't figure out how to rig the thermostat to be in the tent while the a/c sits in the room. do you know how to do that? i'd love to have more space.

I did it bro..I've coined the contraption invention the "ghetto mini-split"...
I'll take pics later and show you,all you'll need is a trip to lowes,an inline booster fan,and your controller.. I actually recommend doing this as it increases efficiency...
I also had a c-99 freebie I popped..so were doing a similar grow!
You gonna use the LEDs?

sweet! that'd give me tons more room i could actually do a 4x4 screen if your method works. hope your c99 runs good for you bro. i actually returned the leds and now i wish i hadn't. just tight on money but now i find that one of my ballasts don't work :S might have to run with just 400 watts this run so i can get some smoke before throwing any more money into this. really need smoke like bad lol.

I've grown FS's C99 in the past....nice strain. Give it as much veg-time as you can (I liked 8 weeks) and a big container (5+ gal). She'll be ready after 9 weeks of 12/12 and give you superior weed. She likes multiple toppings.

Ballast is $75 but you have those LEDs no?
Im not sure if my c99 is gonna pop,its in dirt tho and sank...
I still haven't taken pics but it works,I'll get it done tonight and snap some pics of the newborns also...

So go to Lowes,get a round to square vent reducer,tape it on top of the unit backwards,with aluminum hvac tapeit will leave a half inch gap for back pressure created from the inline fan you'll attach to the reducer with hose..run hose into the tent,plug in a.c. and inline fan into the controller that's also in the tent..set a.c. on highest fan,lowest temp setting,as it is only controlled by tent controller now...you're done
*NOTE*...THIS DOES NOT WORK WITH AUTO RESTART UNITS...

i don't understand. what about the a/c's thermostat? won't it still be outside of the tent?

i don't have the leds anymore i returned them. if i have the money i'll get a new ballast when the time comes. hope your c99 pops for you.

Yes but the thermostat on the unit will be set so low that it will put out@63 degree air whenever the unit cuts on,and it will only cut on via the plug in thermostat/environmental controller INSIDE the tent..if outside ambient temps are less than 63f,and I doubt they are,things will be fine without help..lol...

ahhhh i see now! you are definitely right, the ambient temp outside my tent doesn't get anywhere near 63 lol. ughhh i need cash so badly!! need a new ballast, bulb, inline fan to rig this a/c...gah. glad your c99 popped though! i got 4 out of 7 to pop through the surface.

the babies are starting to get big now i gave them a little too much light at the start so a couple of the little cotyledons are burnt. i think they'll recover ok though.

Use one of those inline booster fans,they're $25 on eBay,and not as powerful as a vortex..you don't need power moving the air in,just a little assistance to the a.c. fan to help it through the hose...
I got 16 out of 20 to pop,and the last 4 might..I'm not counting the 10 x 36yr old seeds I tried to pop..
Baby steps and luck..get the best you can with what you got,off some,reinvest.check craigslist for a cheap magnetic balkast ..$20 usually.
I hadda hustle mexi-midgrade for a year to get 10k for my first grow..you can do it bro,g.s.d....

I did some spring cleaning,and since I had an extra el cheapo fan,I decided to go to Lowes,get some tape,take out the vortex,put in the el cheapo,and get some room in there.. While I was at Lowes,I snapped a pic of the fixture you'll need,hose is self explanatory..
I showed where the tabs bend out in the pic in case you are wondering how to secure it to the top of the a.c...

I said fuck it CCC,I cut a hole in my tent..its not going anywhere anytime soon I hope, took out a fan so less electricity used,and more efficient delivery of cold air..same principal tho,I only had the fan hooked up because I didn't want to cut my tent...but I changed my mind...
No c99,the hull wouldn't come off the cotes,she died..how's your girls??

my tent has tons of vent holes i don't think i'd even need to cut a new hole to do what you're doing. so with my a/c, if i turn it's temperature all the way down and plug it into an environmental controller, then it will turn off and on based off what the temperature on the controller reads? if so then that's perfect...i'll be able to use my hole tent.

sorry to hear about your c99. where did the 36 year old seeds come from? i'm curious how those would have turned out.

here's a little update on my girls. one of them suffered from heat-stress due to the light being too close during seedling stage. oh well, lesson learned. won't happen again. they're getting their first dose of nutrients tomorrow i think.

The old seeds were found hidden behind insulation in my kids playroom which is an add on to the house,they were in a vitamin bottle that is glass,with a glass stopped,expiration Jan 1978(maybe Feb)
So I suspect they're around that age,probably older..none have popped but IMA keep trying..
I hope you're right about the a.c.,hose slows airflow, hence the booster fan..anyhow,you've got the idea so..
