C99 growers here?

All this talk of Joey Weed and "His" C99 is a fukin joke. All Joey Weed did back in the day was troll and put down Mr. Soul and Sly and C99. Capped on C99 and the other strains. He eventually grew them out and changed his mind. Then he just pollen chucked and spun off all of the great BG work and taking credit for his seed lines. He is a worm. If you can go back and read all his crap back on Overgrow you will understand. Overgrow has returned to the web. Supposedly all the old threads and posts are there. Soul and Sly did a hella lot of work and spent tons of time developing their strains and spent the time stabilizing some of them which takes a lot of time and selection work. Joey Weed just cut all the corners like so many tossers have. Maybe he grew up and learned something. Maybe not...

You want original C99. Go to the source. http://www.brothersgrimmseeds.com/?age-verified=cf4fdc98c7 The current C99 crop is the Original Princess mom crossed by a C99 or P.75 version dad from what I read. Soul had saved a batch of the C99 and other P.75 version seeds and started back up from there. HIS GENUINE PRODUCTS AND WORK that he started from those Jack Herer bud seeds from Sensi Smile. Not pollen chucker spin offs. The new Apollo 13 is fathered by a TGA Subcool Vortex dad selected by Soul from TGAs work with BG and others strains crossed into the original Genius mom. I have tried and had grown 4 diff levels of Princess/C99. The P.50, P.75 then P.94 and P.97 versions. I bought stock from HS back in the day but also I got beans directly from Sly himself and knew him. Sly was cool to me and even came by with mj meds for me when I was really sick from a kidney op and hung out for a spell a few times. I do not handle pain killers or opioids well cuz they make me nauseous. MJ really helped my pain and kept my stomach calm. A debt of gratitude to you Sly. I still have a bunch of BGs original work and have a very hard time finding better goods than their original efforts. Then as now their prices keep me from buying the newly released beans. I will wait for others to buy and review. I have some original Rosetta Stone and the new formula is totally different. Actually sounds even better. A Jack Herer by P.75 cross... :) But what I really want back now is the Sugar Blossoms, Genius by Slys special WW dad cross. My wife loved it and now is handicapped with MS and had multiple strokes. Would be nice to treat her with something she adored.

That above looks a lot closer to an Org. C99. The FMS C99 pics previously shared looks to have a more full on sativa expression. (thin leaves) Soul said two main phenos existed in the C88 to C99 versions. One taller and thinner (more sativa looking, not as potent) and one that is shorter and bushier (more potent and tropical fruity smelling) Both had the meaty undertone. In all it is what was selected by the subsequent gene buying breeders using C99 (original or filial gens) to make what they call C99. Mosca said they used two different phenos to recreate their C99 beans. By mixing a grapefruit and a pineapple phenos. Genetic diversity is good but not like the real deal as it was in the beginning. It would be quite a feat to actually make C99 better through its own genetics without out crosses. Would take growing out a very large number to find a special pheno to try and work with to cube again and improve upon Mr. Souls work. Remember all of his versions were crossed back into the org. Princess mom. With out her The strain may have well turned out different.

Mosca also released a BG DTC99. Using BG org. stock and just selecting and making a f2 release. I picked some up but not used yet. Back in the day I tried some and it was very nice with a anise or licorice flavor. Up and stony but not as walloping high as C99 IMHO. Flavor rocked though. A little uncommon back then.

Thanks!

Another quote I should share from Mr. Soul. "there could be some serious magic in the f2 generations" regarding peeps making beans from BG stock. He like me and so many others read and studied and learned from MJ Botany by RC Clarke. So there could be a better C99 than Souls original but, how would one tell?
