Cabinet Design, would this work?

Hey guys so this is my first time building a grow box, also my first time growing weed lol so ANY suggestions on making my design better is much appreciated. Lately i have been reading forums and internet sites. Mainly doing my homework on trying to build the BEST cabinet grow box i can. The box is 47.5inx20.25inx71.5in . With the lights and everything i would think i could grow the plants to be a little under 4 feet tall. I'm thinking of growing 8-10 plants thinking that two will die because i'm a noob but let's hope not lol. Money to me is not my biggest concern so any suggestions on making my design better for the space is much appreciated.(That being said don't give me suggestions of some 1,500$ grow cabinet. I'm just willing to spend around 800 on this) So far this is my design :D

Will this work? Also which fan is best at the bottom to keep fresh air in the cabinet? Also what degree is best to maintain in the room for vegging and flowering? Also what are most effective ways of keeping it at that set temperature?
A few other questions that i have is would it be better to veg my plants under T8 or T5 lights then switch to a HPS for flowering stage or is it better to use a HPS the whole time for bigger yields and nice plants.
Thanks so much buildabong :D

your design looks to be on the right path. as for the fan on the bottom, if you have a strong enough exhaust you can go with just a passive intake, meaning just cut a hole and put a light trap ( looks similar to a dryer vent on the outside of a house )over it. if you are just gonna do 8-10 plants at a time and not have seperate sections for veg and flower then you will want to think about getting a light ballast ( 400-600watt ) that can run both MH and HPS bulbs. that way you can veg with the MH bulb and flower with the HPS. if youre gonna have a seperate veg area then t5, t8 and cfl all work very well, and you would only need a ballast that runs HPS bulbs. when you get a hood, get one that can be air cooled and hook it up to your exhaust fan. the other end of the hood should be open to draw air in. to see if you need a fan at the bottom hook your light and exhaust up and close up your cabinet, if you can feel air being drawn into the hole you cut into the bottom for an intake then you dont need a fan. make sure you paint the insides of your walls bright flat white. temps for your cabinet should be between 68-84f, with good air flow is the only way to keep it regulated. keep in mind that if the temperature outside the grow cabinet is high, then bringing in hot fresh air to cool your area and hot light will do nothing. if this is the case then you need to purchase a portable a/c unit and vent it into your lower intake hole.

ask many questions and post pics if you can and everyone here will try to help you the best we can. good luck.

thanks d rock, that helps a lot. it's close to a window and it's cold where i'm from so i think i will be okay with the temp of the air outside the box.

any other suggestions ?
