Cal/Mag issues?

Can anyone please tell me whether or not this is a cal/mag issue. Currently growing in coco. If so can anyone reccomend a good cal mag supplement without N? I dontwant another nute just something to sort out the deficiancy. As you can see in the photos there is a bit of yellowing between leaves.

i would say it looks like a case of minor magnesium deficiency. i had the same prob. I ordered an 8 oz bottle of calmag and i think with shipping it was under 10$. i didnt get to use much of it cause whn i got it my plants were already just about done, but ive read alot of good things about it and im glad i got it. im sure ill be using it in the future.

that looks a little like what Ive had lately, I used molasses(cal,mag,iron) 1tbs/gal and epsom salts 1 tbs per gal and it is starting to look better

man i just got an idea about those pots. MAYBE i could get some sort of object, heat it up, and poke holes in my plastic pots??? hahaha does that sound like a bad idea or worth a try? ive got 7 good pots right now i think i might try to rigg one up. looks rather easy to do.

I think that would help a little as opposed to having no ventilation, but I have a bunch of air pots and the thing about them is that the "egg crate" shape makes it so that when your roots hit the egde, they are guided into one of the "out" cones that has a hole at the end and then the root is air pruned so your roots in the middle grow more and healthier.

They are a little pricey, but I really like the results I've had with them so far.

Yeah the airpots work by air trimming the roots, with coco its kind of like doing a hydro grow. They are supposed to promote growth by airaiting the roots better than a standard pot and stronger roots = more bud = happier stoner :-)

I checked out a few posts on sites and it seemed to me to be mag def. I have watered with epsom salts to try and rectify the problem. Only issue i had was that the epsom salts have a high EC. But surely if the plant is deficiant of mag then it will utilise all it can?

I know MJ loves her Mag! I will see if there is any improvements in the next days. Thanks everyone

Ive kept the Ph between 5.7-5.9. Ive heard this is the recommended range for coco. Run off was a bit high though at 8. Not sure why the ph would rise so much in the medium but it did. I flushed and saw some better growth but still with some discoloration. Will wait a couple days and see whether the Epsom salts take effect at all.

um...a bit high, thats way high. so yes pg is the issue. cant be anywhere neat that high a run off. for you in a so called nutral medium it needs to be same in as out for ph. for others like me in a soiless or even a soil never let it get below 6 run off no matter what the in ph is.
ive never had my ph go high like that. needs a flush to save them. their locked up. and in coco its a must to use cal everytime you feed.

from 6 to 7 ph is 100 x stronger and each decimal is 10x the strength. your using the correct pH in.

Thanks medi, i was useing cal mag before but quit due to thinking it was an overfeeding issue. I had a feeling they were mag deficiant but what you are saying about flushing makes complete sense. Having used epsom salts i have seen a small improve,ment but new growty is still slow and much lighter shade of green.

I tried this before and it helped new growth for a while, but i think ec and ph has built up again in the medium and locking them out (Not sure what is causing this problem). Think I will have to flush again and start again with lower ec. Man, i can totaly understand why people grow in coco but for me its been a nightmare!

Next grow will be organic soil based

Mate... this is exactly what 2 of my 36 day old ladies look like, yellow leaves with dry brown spots. Its even started happening on the small leaves on the buds. By the looks of it you chopped before it was a prob, did you use any of the cal/mag before chop and did it work?
i have just flushed them but not sure what to do next , any help frm your experience would be great savior to my suffering ladies !!!

How are you applying the epsom salts? It should be in a foliar feeding, not poured into the roots.

I was adding it to their regular feeding. that would make sense to foliar feed though cos that much salt in the medium cannot be good.

@Mc. I know your frustration man. I have started useing a cal mag supplement and things seemed to have improved a lot. For pics check out my journal. will be posting soon. Try the epsom salts but as punk says maybe foliar feeding is the way to go.

Ok just for a bump to this post, i have flushed two of the girls today, its took their ph down to 7.1 but that still seems high. The Ec is currently at 0.8 for run off and thats come down a bit. I had to use 25L of phd water light nute solution for each girl. Took over two hours just to flush. Surely theres an easier way of growing than this?? May try a soil grow next time just to give myself a break!

I just hope it helps them out. Will be flushing the other two tomorrow and foliar feeding lightly with epsom over the next couple of days.
