Cal-Mag question

I have been seeing deficiencies in my plants like yellow leaves and dropping leaves. I have a new group of girls that starting to have yellow bottom leaves. I’m only using Beastie Bloomz atm and I’m thinking that Cal Mag might be the answer but I never used it. How often do you use it and any tips?

Depends on the calmag, no idea what beastie bloomz is or your setup, but yellowing bottom leaves is usually a sign of hunger. Calmag that’s higher in N might help but I would be looking for a full balanced nutrient or checking other causes like ph and lockout. Pics and info help, most tap water eliminates the need for a calmag, better off using Ca and mg separate as required.

Beastie Bloomz is the fox farms line 1 of 3 during the bloom cycle. There are some supplemental nutes you are supposed to run along with 3 bloom formulas but I was hoping I could get away without having to purchase 3 more bottles

what week of flower are you in ? i just purchased beastie bloomz and gave my first dose yesterday my leaves are also dying i am in week 5 but the buds are doing good i just pluck off the yellow leaves i give 10 ml of calmag every feeding along with tiger bloom

That stuff is mostly monopotassium phosphate. It has no nitrogen. Some calmag does have nitrogen but not enough. Plants need nitrogen for flowering. Your leaves should not be yellowing and falling off.

You need a full fertilizer that supplies NPK, micronutrients, sulfur, calcium, magnesium, etc...

Calmag isn't going to cut it. And using just a bloom booster like you are can cause nutrient antagonism from feeding mainly P/K. Where did you get the idea that feeding only a product that is mostly monopotassium phosphate was a good idea? It's 0-50-30. It's like feeding the arms and letting the legs starve.

Calmag isn't the answer. Spend a little time and do some research on plant nutrition.

You are going to need all three bottles of Fox Farms fertilizer.

I will assume you are growing in soil. As you can see from the chart above, Beastie Bloomz is recommended for weeks 7 and 8 in flower.

You should be using Grow Big, Tiger Bloom and Big Bloom every week. I feed with every watering in flower, all the way thru to harvest, about half the strength of the schedule.

The yellow leaves on the bottom of your plant indicate a lack of nitrogen, that means you need to use Grow Big for more nitrogen.

Beastie Bloomz is 0-50-30 (Nitrogen-Phosphors-Potassium), this means Beastie Bloomz has zero nitrogen, and nitrogen is essential for plant growth all the way thru the cycle to harvest. Lack of nitrogen results in premature flowering, reduced yield and lower potency.

You need to provide more information about your growing cycle to get more feedback for better results.

Good luck!

You guys are correct. I’m going go get some of the other nutes they suggested to use with the bloom formula. Before I used the entire line up and had excellent results but after running out of the supplemental nutes and after not growing for many years I came back and used what I had on hand

Just get some base nutes and call it a day.

Good luck with your grow.

To be honest I don’t keep track of my weeks. I introduce some plants later after removing some so it gets a bit mixed up
